so i pulled my motor apart to ring and bearing it so i could hit it hard in the cool weather.
when i pulled it apart, i found a cracked pistion
it wasnt bad, but it was enoph to scratch the wall, and im realy not in a place to spend $$ on a new pistion, possably 8 because we may have to punch that one cylender out in turn i would have to buy 8 pistions plus machine shop $$
i think im going to call it a season, start selling parts, and saving up for next years plans!!
not worth spending thousands for just a couple more races
we'll see, the block went to the machine shop, if it doesnt have to be cut to much, maybe i will buy 1 piston, new rings bearings, and toss it back in. we'll see.
everything else looked perfect. and my secret head gaskets were mint!!!!
im so confused.
im also not 100% sure on what the cause was for the failer, NO lean condition at all. everything looked mint. plugs where perfect ect ect. almost think it was a defect.

yhea, im not that worried about it. the season is close to the end, if the block has to get machined i will probably call it a season, but i have plans for next year
they include narrowed 9" wheelie bars, and some new motor combos!!!!
plus im saving up for some tweeks for the snowmobile. i cant wait for that, already started ordering parts for that. got some custom lighting to do, and some new ski's. cant wait for snow

sucks to hear you won't make another go at it this year, but after seeing it at the shop, I figured you'd be taking a break.
Good luck with the new combo whatever it may be...... but if I were in your shoes, I think I'd be looking at revisiting the twin snail setup, now that people are doing that stuff more, you'd be alot better off.

What pistons are you using. It sucks when you were on the right track with your setup and now you have to throw in the towel.Ive had noting but problems this year and every time i think im on the home strech to getting it done i hit another road block.Sometimes i wish i never went with the bigger cubes and just stayed with the stock cubes and had fun.Im sure if we stayed with stock cubes we would have been in the low 9's.
I know the pain. Sux to hear that you might not be running again this year. Another month is just when it starts to get comfortable around here and then the winter is when you can really turn it up.

Going to tell - or do we have to wait? Are twins in your picture? Enough with nitrous?

Just kidding. To bad, another 8 second nitrous car would have been cooool. I guess we'll have to wait for Eric to get his car together.
Our track closes on Sep 17th. Next weekend we are going to turn up the boost and hope for 8's.
(Yes I do keep up with my nitrous pen-pals)

Damn Brad, that's to bad. With the eights at hand... I certainly hope that it just needs another piston and some clean up work, then 8's could be had? Our tracks stay open till end of Oct, so we still have plenty of racing left. Good luck on getting it fixed this year. Keep us updated.

Hey Noyzee what Piston/ring package are you running? I know it was a custom n2o piston but just wondering top ringland thickness...and didn't you say you had gas ports too?
Maybe I hear things.

well guys, it will depend on if the block needs $$$ spent on it. if i have to go 30 over on it to fix it, i will probably have all the machine work done to it and just sell the block as a 30 over block. i just cant seeing throwing a pile of money into it for 2 or 3 more races, but we'll see. the machine shop is bussy, right now, so once they look at it and tell me, that will make my mind up. if all i need is a clean up, new rings/bearings, i will probably make one more go at it. if i do get out again, chances are pretty good i will be spraying atleat 200 per stage!!!!!!!
as for a new setup, it has to do with a narrowed 9", wheelie bars, minni tub, and more cubes!!!! motor car with a possable small shot 150 plate system maybe. but possably 8 second motor car. we'll see. it also depends how much i spend this winter on sledding. lol

Sorry to hear about that.
