I've got a MSD 8970 3 stage timing retard I was going to use to retard timing when on the bottlle. The instuctions say though,

Note: When the Three Stage Retard Control is installed the igniton iming will retard approximately 4 degrees from its original setting. After installation, the timing should be checked and adjusted as necessary.

Is this true? Or will the LT1 ecu just not even worry about it and run the usual amount of timing??
