Hitting a 98 block with nitrous
So, just wondering if anyone has problems with hitting a 98 block with big shots... I know the 98 blocks are different and not as strong, just wondering if anyone has had any problems with the actual block itself. I'm looking at a 200-250 shot...
Its a forged motor... Just wondering if there was anything to worry about with the block itself. I know the block has the small oil galley and such, and the block it the least wanted for horsepower reasons. Just wanted to see if anyone had problems with it.
Naw. The 98 is strong enough. Did 200 shot numerous times (when I was nitrous). Stock short block - never touched bottom end - not even the oil pan taken off. Ran 150-200 shot for over 3 years without any problems. I will say I tuned the car myself. You do need (like all nitrous) all the supporting equipment - window switch, fuel pump, etc. Best of 10.08 at 132+, with a 1.35 60' on a transbrake, shooting 200 shot right out of the hole.
Yes it can be done, and has been done numerous times.
