They usually add a bit of timing, but it would depend on what settings were used. Two ways to reset it, one with the hypertech whice originally flashed it or take it to a dealer and have them flash the PCM for you.

You can find someone who has HP Tuners for your year of car and download a stock PCM program and reprogram it that way back to stock.

I had a hypertech way back before I did H&C and I lost power with the timing that the hypertech added. You DO NOT WANT TO SPRAY WITH A HYPERTECH TUNE.I dont know how to be any clearer on this. The hypertech tune adds to much timing for spray

yea man if i where you i wouldnt run any shot at all on the hypertech programmer ...if you do you have a very high chance that you will detenate.. if you bought the car with it in there then you should have been given the programmer .... if not contact the person you bought the car from and try to get it cause if you dont have the exact hypertech it wont work and its a pain to get your comperter back to stock....

Sorta offtopic, but how much power did you lose? Mine picked up HP on a dyno. I'm not sure what the timing is set at with the hypertech.

way back with stock H&C my car would run 12.6 NA with the hyper tech and 12.3 NA back to the stock tune. Thats going back to 2002. Not sure how it effected power but I know what it did to my time slips. It will work on a stock car but I had a lot of bolt on's headers and gears and it didn't like the extra timing

Ah, I see. Yeah, time slips tell more than just dyno numbers do. My car is mostly stock, converter, lid, cutout, and free mods. Maybe something changes with the headers.

Edit: It also made my car super rich, not lean like I've already read on here. I had to lean it alot after the power programming.

What did you think it was going to cost for free? Wait till you get the tune and dyno bill if you think that is high. Hypertech sucks it is known for making you loose power instead of improving .

i knew it was not going to be free but damn that is expensive. the dyno tune is only 400 i will be happy to pay that to get dyno numbers and have the car running right!

You will need to find someone in your area with HP Tuners for the year of car you have. It is software that will program your stock PCM through the Diagnostic port via a cable. Then all you need to do is go to the .bin repository on the HP Tuners website download a stock .bin for your car (this will be a file) Then just program your PCM with it through HP Tuners.

Get a hold of the person you brought the car from. The hypertech can only be used on 1 car at a time. So if your car has a hypertech tune in it the hand held programer is useless to anyone but you. It can only be used on your car right now. If he pulls the tune out of your car atleast then he can sell the hypertech

My car gained 1 horsepower and 3ft lbs on the hypertech tune. this done on the dyno back to back less than ten minutes apart. My car is an auto. It detonated so bad before it would shift you could hear it. So I put it back to stock and it stopped detonating. That was way too much to ask for so little gain.
