Default Heads, cam, speed density dry nitrous = 183mph in standing mile!

Just got back from the Texas Mile. I'm here to report that my heads/cam car was running with an LPE 427 F-body and an MTI 422 F-body on motor. I ran 170.365mph on motor in the standing mile. Then I ran my car with a .065" jet and dry nitrous with no MAF (speed density). Went an additional 13mph to break 183mph. Keep in mind, this is not my top speed, but what I could achieve in a 1 mile distance from a standing start. I am probably putting out around 615-625 rwhp on the bottle. Not bad for driving it to and from the track, huh?

Is this the one on the reserved airport in texas that they open annually for a 1 mile dragstrip?

If so that is completely insane

I think I would of beat ya Patrick if my motor didn't give up the ghost at the 3/4 mile mark.

I was on the spray in 3rd, 4th and 5th gear...probably from 80 mph up to 183 mph. Finish line rpm was 6828 in 5th. I was running street tires in the rear and they wouldn't hold the spray until 3rd gear.

No, my car passed tech with flying colors and was legal to run up to 190mph before needing to install additional safety items. It was soooo smooth and stable at that speed...almost surprising since I'm still at stock ride height. Gotta love those new Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval tires. They're new and performed extremely well. I like them better than any tire I've owned before.
