Default Mental note: A 10lb bottle does NOT weigh 10lb's

I am so annoyed, upset, tired, etc.............

Had to work yesterday so I am behind the 8-ball already.
So I bought a grinder yesterday so this morning I could grind my wheel wells for my 28's to fit.

OK

Woke up early to get it done.
I was makin all kinds of noise at 8am.

After a lot of work.
I put my stocker 16's on, load up the car and weigh up my bottle.

sweet, 17lbs.
Thinkin a 10lb bottle weighs 10lbs itself, I am good to go.

Byron is fricken packed and I dont get there till 1pm and still gotta hook up the slicks.

2pm, i'm in line.
A loooooooooooooooooooong line.

3pm i'm in.............
It purges so I am good right?

1st run I dont quite figure it out
It surges a few times but I neevr ranthe bottle so I
figured rookie mistake or something.

After another 1.5 hour wait, I get another go.

Same thing.
Ran a 12.4. Probably ran rich as hell since the stand alone pump was pushing fuel but no NOS!!!!!

So after spending $40 on the gas there and back + 3 gallons of 110 octane + $25 for 2 runs + the labor of changind tires twice.

I learn a valuable lesson:
Dont rush a track day anymore.
I was all behind, annoyed and badly rushed.
Hell, I had to grab a nasty Micky D's at a Oasis
I left way to late..............

Shoulda asked u guys about the bottle weight.

p.s. My now empty bottle which i let out a ton of just AIR  when I got home.....................
weighs 14lb's

should tell you on the bottle how much it weighs empty and full. your average 10lb bottle weighs about 15lbs empty and 25lbs full. when refering to 10 lb bottle, 15lb bottle, etc..., that's how much nitrous it can hold.

Sorry to hear you ruined a nice Sun. Should of stayed home and watched the game.

Back to racing, I mark all my bottles empty weight on bottle. I have several styles, 10#, 15# & carbon fiber. I use them for making weight when I need to be legal.
Buy a digital bathroom scale, they are cheap now. Better luck next time.

That sucks, but look at the big picture. You and the car are fine, and the only thing stopping you from going racing again in a few ponds of giggle juice.

Everyone has done something stupid like that at one time or another.

thanx guys.

It was filled and we did a few dyno pulls (Im the one who spun the wheels on the dyno, or did i just post that in MW forum?)
So I stupidly thought a bottle weighed 10lbs empty.

And, its actually on the bottle  I just read that today

Lesson learned!!!
The car is ok. Def need a spare bottle.
A 175 shot sure does run out quick!!!!

Yeah, I was listening to the truck next to me as I was switching my slicks for the ride home
