Default Compression and nitrous

Im building a 408 stroker and would like to carry my nitrous kit over with the new motor. Im spraying an 85 shot currently on my stock 5.3L, would like to spray around a 100, maybe 150 shot very safey on the new motor once I am finished building it. Before I finalize the last few parts choices(pistons mostly) I would like to know if I should run much lower of a compression or not. Right now im coming in at about 10:1 with the pistons im considering, though I could lower it down to 9.25:1 if yall think this would be nessicary. The rods, pistons, and crankshaft will all be forged, and bolts/studs i'll be using will be ARP.

Is compression a big deal with a 100-150 shot?

Go with whatever compression you want, the nitrous will not make a differemce depending on compression.

I would be spraying a bigger shot if I were you since you have the forged motor.

Awesome. I had been told I needed to run lower compression for nitrous but that 10 was fine for 150.. Awesome.. I'll probobly up it to 175 to start then =)

We run max compression on all my N2O motors.

15.8-1 in my fast car and 13-1 in my slow car.

Compression = HP

I think the guys are right,really the only need for lower compression is the use for turbo or supercharger.I am in the same boat u are with the 408, i have 10.5.1 compression planning on spraying 200 shot....good luck with the new motor !

Thanks! I am aiming now for 10.5-10.. seems well rounded, will run no prob on 93 octane, and is about the stock 6.0l compression ratio.
