Default Timing control for the LS1

I see the Timing Tuner device and programming the PCM in the IAT tables trick but would like to know if there is anything else available to adjust spark advance / retard on the fly for the LS1 - LS6 Thanks.

If using the stock COP ignition system you are somewhat limited to what you listed for timing control.

Matt, I've looked at the timing tuner but can't see any way to program it. I'm sure it is programmable but cannot see any buttons or switches. Still wondering how this is done. Thanks....

The cap comes off the unit and you make all your adjustments inside there.

u guys need to find a good tuner who knows his ****...you can run hellatious timing in NA, then run a wire to the PCM from the nitrous arm switch that senses when the nitrous is armed, and Voila! an alternate operating program on your PCM takes over for the nitrous with retarded timing, etc. You see, you get the best of both worlds.

If it can be done, the pcm tuner will not be around when the weather changes or I see some spark knock, going lean O2 on my wideband data or some other variable. I will be around 425 hp N/A and experimenting with nitrous/fuel jet sizes on a wet system. A pcm tune would be fine but I still need to make adjustments. Thanks for the advice though.

Absolutely, Alvin@PCMForLess recently filled me in about this. Unfortunately, it is for 99-02 F-cars, us 98 guys are screwed.

The website says MSD New products for 2007 so I'm thinking it isn't available yet but Summit Racing has one listed (MSD-86252) $272.95 with no product information other than TIMING TWISTER FOR A 4.6 and ship date of 12/21.

Anyone have any more info on doing this through the PCM that HD1911 and JoeyAnderso are talking about? I'm trying to figure out how to retard the timing for spray only and keep it advanced for motor only power.

You can ask in the tuning section or PM user "Alvin" on this board.
