Default NX Nitrous Filter - Anyone using one???

I have a NX nitrous filter and it started leaking the other day from where it looks like the "cap" of the can threads into the body. Is this filter meant to be able to be opened and have the element (screen)cleaned? Don't want to do anything to it, cause it's only a few weeks old and I don't want to void the warrantyl if it is a bad part???

it uses a O-ring to seal... so you can take it apart and put it back together no problem.
its probly just a little loose... take it apart, check that its still clean, then put some oil (just a little tiny tiny bit) on the O-ring... you dont want or need any excess on there...

it should seal up just fine.

yes, you can open it up and clean the filter, inspect the o-ring seal or whatever. I had a new one out of the box that had a pin hole in the cap that threads into the body. I changed the end fitting several times, tried teflon paste, locktight and even changed the supply hose before I discovered where the actual leak was coming from.

I got my new one with a pin hole in it. I sent it back to NX, and they replaced it for me.

i use the nx filter. had the same problem and returned it. custmer service sent me another and its been good. customer service told me sometimes the o-ring gets nicked on the threads thus causing a leak. if i break it i fix it. if i buy something thats broke ill get a replacement.

i dont know if its the proper way or not, but ive always used brake cleaner since it will spray/dissolve everything off, and leave no residue.... i dunno if thats what i should be doing, but its worked for me so far.

Is the NX one any better than the NOS one? I'm going to buy a filter soon, just wondering if either is superior.

You might want to check to see which one filters out the smallest particles.
