Default 150 shot on all motor tune

Is it possible to run a 150 shot (wet) on an all motor tune?

Basically, I mean 28* timing and 12.5 AF ratio?

Or do I need to pull some timing?

I'm no tuning expert by any stretch of the imagination, but, I would certainly pull some timing before spraying nitrous on your combination.

For instance, my bone stock '06 GTO: NGK TR6 plugs gapped @ .039 and 2* timing pulled.

Then again, I just like things on the safe side.

I only know old carb type motors, and I've never seen a 150 shot turn out good without taking away timing. At least 4-5. Pistons & rings cost too much to gamble.

Thanks for the replies.

Its a 408 w/ AFR heads, camotion cam, headers, etc etc.

I want to squeeze as much out of an "all motor" tune as I can because thats what I'll run 90% of the time. But then again, I'm not against being safe (pullin a couple of degrees).

hows your fuel system? for saftey its usually 1 degree for every 50hp. there is the timming tuner that lets you retard the timing when the system is armed and back to n/a timing when the system is off

Walbro inline pump. 42# SVO injectors.

I ran a 150 shot on my old motor for a long time without any problems. But the tuner had some timing pulled from the tune at that time.

Stock tune and a n/a aftermarket tune are different things. No way would I spray a 150 shot on a motor tune, mrdragster said, it's not worth the gamble. get a timing tuner if you want he best of both worlds.

I run 24* on a 150 hit, 26* on a 100 hit, and 28.5* on motor! I would not spray the car without pulling more timing.

I was wondering the same thing.. I got a 02 Z06 with TFS, MS3 and ported fast. I want to run a 150 shot also but on the motor tune.

What if I ran 116 octane would i still need to pull timing??

it really depends on how much 'motor tune' timing you have. logging my motor on 150 wet shot with the stock tune, i saw as high as 28.5* with no knock retard. the lowest was 24*. i raised the low points of the stock tune and smoothed the timing curve to 26* with no knock retard.

I was running 27 of total advance on a heads cam and 150 shot. No problems here except it pulled like a bitch.

I was running 24* of total advance with a 6-speed car and a 150 **** and my car went faster than yours! Running two much timing on the spray is asking for trouble! I am just going by what my tuner told me! He does it for a living!
