Sweet... Smart choice.

Nobody mentioned the best benefit yet... allways use medical grade and purge into the cabin. That way even if it blows up you'll find it funny as hell.

Wow, where are you finding that? I've only ever seen a 185 lbs cylinder which holds 56 lbs of nitrous and I thought I had a killer deal at $1.46 per pound including hazmat and tax.

I made my first pass on a legal drag strip in 1955. I built my first FI car in 1957. My first venture into nitrous was about a year ago.

In my case the decision to go with nitrous was based upon the following factors:

1. I am well past the age where street racing holds any interest to me, so I don't need the extra power all the time.
2. My goal for the track was 11.5 ET. Roll bars or a cage is not something I want in my daily driver.
3. Driveability. I spent a lot of years nursing cars that shook, jumped, surged, and sometimes failed to run because of mods gone wrong. I finally decided that I am past the point where I want to put up with that anymore.
4. Dollars and cents (sense ). Realistic price for FI on a GTO will run between $6,000 and $8,000 when all is said and done. My dry kit running a 100 shot cost me $500; and has met all the goals I set out to achieve. I pay $4/lb for nitrous; but usually only use 5-6 lbs each time I go to the track.

I might have chosen a different route if I were seeking sub-10s in a track only car. Most likely, I would have combined FI and nitrous. OTOH, if that were the case, I would have also chosen another platform over the GTO....but, that's another thread altogether.

OK SO YOU AND I THOUGHT 7$ PLUS 14% TAX WAS TOO MUCH...
I WENT TO A PERFORMANCE SHOP HE SAID $80 PER 10lb BOTTLE PLUS TAX WHICH COMES TO $91.2 OR $136.80 FOR MY 15lb BOTTLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
