Last time i was in florida i pick up a performance mag cant remember which one though. there was a nitrous wright up "425 hp hit will it last" ? they purged the system below 3k which blew piston chunks? I believe it was last hit with a 325 or 350 shot. Im curious if the 425 hit would have worked out??? maybe a 500hit too???
You know I got a stock small block laying around.
I wounder?????

They are just MPT x FPT, called street 90*'s, you can get them in brass at the hardware or hyd supply house for cheap. Same bottle I have.

I've got a 400 shot on my car...two stages, 250/150. It's a stock bottom end, with a cam/GMPP intake/plate kit. I haven't hit both together yet...it already makes 730rwhp on the 250 shot and that is through a PG. I'm taking it to the track tonight to see how it does on that stage. When my other motor is ready...which should be a few weeks, I'm going to hit both and see what lands where..lol

I think for anything below 700rwhp, nitrous is just too easy. Anything above, a turbo is your best bet.

So in sum your talking about $49,000.00 for a turbo motor. To be able to run with the pro mods. Obviously your not going to spend that kind of money on a street car.
Now we just sold our other car which was a n/a SBC single stage N2O 481 cu/in motor
we set two national records with this car.
1st it was the worlds quickest n/a SBC at the sum of 6.666 @ 211mph
2nd it was a street car licened and inspected and it ran those kind of numbers. ( It is a chassis car) but still a street car.
The motor cost appox. the same as the other but the fogger was only $1000.00.
Now the turbo car has gone 6.35 @ 227mph but it took us three years to get there. The nitrous car would have run those kind of numbers off the trailer 1st day out.
If I were to do it all over again I would put a nitrous set up back on the car.
YOU CAN NOT BEAT NITROUS DOALLAR FOR DOLLAR TO ANY OTHER POWER ADDER.

Is it a NA Engine or a Nitrous Engine? Now we just sold our other car which was a n/a SBC single stage N2O 481 cu/in motor

Ditto, was this NA or Nitrous? NA does not = Nitrous Assisted! 1st it was the worlds quickest n/a SBC at the sum of 6.666 @ 211mph

just using round numbers, a bolt on turbo kit will run about 5 grand (not counting supporting mods) and a wet kit around 500 (also not supporting mods) itll take...150 10lb bottles to breka even, not to mention the tq...

I don't know, but it seems pretty common for the vette guys to have 20k plus into their turbo set-ups? Might be cheaper for the f-bods, as the vette tax is a killer.

Cant testify to their quality, but there are quite a few ppl running CFN on this board alone. I am sure if CFN was junk, someone with that personal kind of experience would have chimed in already. On that note, there will always be the bandwagoners of one over the other, careful who you listen to!

i personally had very bad luck with CFN.. and when i asked for help they basically told me no.. so the solenoids have since become an ornament on a RC boat.. which then sank.. I will tell you though.. this was almost 2.5 yrs ago.. just the experience was really bad and i won't go back..

that was just for the kit. now throw in a built tranny, rear, huge fuel system since they cant use the very easy standalone systems our nitrous systems use...

I went out last night, got in the water box...doing my burnout. I was just getting ready to shift into second and motor started to bog and died. I tried to restart it and all it does is click. She locked up on me..lol. I'm guessing something in the lowerend tried to save itself..lol. Funny thing though, it never knocked once.

This was an LS1 motor.

Well if the anonymous birds have to do it in secret, then it seems to be a bias of some sort, or just pure lying with a hidden agenda. I state with out a shadow of a doubt that CF products are just as good as any out there. You posting this gossip without any real experiance with CF products...

I am sorry you had a bad experiance with CFN. I don't know the whole story, and really don't need to, but these days CFN and it's vendors are going out of there way to insure satisfaction.
