Default Spraying through shifts

I was wondering how many guys running an automatic tranny are spraying through the shifts? I always have. Also if anyone has any proof of if it is bad or not?

thats what i always think. people that are making 400-450 on motor or FI are not loseing power right before they shift.

I always sprayed through my shifts. Never had a problem. I think it is easier to get a hard hit once then hit it more than once and not spray through the shifts.

How bad does it hurt ur mph and ET when you dont spray through the shifts.(most only shift twice in the 1/4).I was always under the impression that would kill the stock A4 transmission cause it cant handle much over 400rwhp.

never sprayed through the shifts on the 4l60e- have a th400 now and do it..

i had the spray cut off like 50-75rpms before the shift point. the et. that i've gained was soo minimal that it isn't worth it to spray it through the shifts on the 4l60e.

my setup DID take a ton of bottles/passes/tuning time and i have hptuners to adjust the shift points. it is worth it to save the trans though imho. like i said once it is tuned in and is REALLY close to the shift point but it still cuts off you are good. i did it by mph and just lowered it down till you hardly felt the nitrous shut off ans then it would shift. like .5 seconds the nitrous would shut off before it shifted.

btw msd digital window switch set at 6k and shift points were like 6050-6075 according to the logs. you cannot just set the shift points at that because you'll never actually see it shift at that rpm you gotta do it by mph, trial and error till you get it right on the ragged edge.

jmho..

At first, I just flipped the switch off ( no window switch). I made another pass and left the nitrous on through the entire run. It's been sprayed through every shift since then with a 150 shot

Spray right through. Have a built tranny, if it brakes i'll just get one built tougher.

any more power than stock is gonna wear out the tranny sooner than not. just jack up the line pressure and make it to where the car gets in gear faster.

that said, i spray through my shifts, and my 4L60E is starting to slip again...might be time for more drastic measures......

Been spraying thru the shift's since my nitrous install last july, and so far so good.
But to be honest I'm not running a big shot of juice either, as my system is rated at the flywheel.
Still, everyone and their brother is telling me I'm crazy not to run a ws. I guess time will tell whether I'm an idiot for jucin thru the shift's.

spraying through the shifts is harder on your trans, while not spraying through them hurts your times, and is harder on the motor. Everytime the nitrous activates you get another jolt (torque spike) on the rotating assembly. If you can afford or have a built trans, I would definatly spray through the shifts. If you can't pay, dont spray....
