Well In my recent thread I stated I had the kit on order.
Now here's my question. I'm still running the stock 10 bolt, which I don't think will last longer, but I gotta reward it for not breaking yet.
I know this should probably go in the gears section, but I figure who to know best than the guys that have the knowledge with the nitrous
I've thought long and hard about it. I was initially set on 4.10's before the idea of nitrous came about. Now, would 4.10's be too big to get trhough the traps. I know there are very many variables to it IE, how aggressive a setup, where ur limiter is set at, how tall a tire. But generally speaking, should a 4.10 be the answer...or go with a rear with a 3.90 option, or just stick 373

stick? auto? stall speed? rev-limiter/how high you are willing to rev the car?
generally speaking imho with a 3800 stalled auto, cam, 26" tire, a 3.55 gear is PUSHING it on the juice! with my 2.73's i was at like 5800rpms crossing the line in 3rd gear! hell i might go even lower like 3.25's so i don't have to step up in tire size.. i like keeping the stock wheels no matter what the sacrifices.
a 4.10 on the juice= probably need a 30" tire and still be at max rpms crossing the traps.

Why is it you want to run less gear with nitrous. BTW Im gona start spraying next spring and I have a 26" with 3.73s and a 3600 stall. Any suggestions? I'm open to switching to a 28" tire.
You'd only want less gear if you had a problem running out of gear in 4th at the traps.
I'm running 4.10s now and probably start with a 100 shot next season working up to a 150. Limiter is at 6800, running a 26" slick which probably grows a hair on the big end. Hopefully I'm not going to be running out of gear, but not sure. Figure it should be trapping 125-127 I'd hope on the 100 shot. Never bothered to watch and see what I'm crossing the traps at now, d'oh.

That's my problem, I figure is I'm going to do it, do it once right? Be done with it, get the right gears for the rear and not have to spend another penny on it
6800 redline you could be allright with a 3.73 or even 4.10 on a 26" tire.. i don't really rev mine past 6k, doesn't make any power after 5500 anyway.
if you go with a 9" rear the gear changes are much easier to do vs. a 12 bolt. or so i've heard.

If your car is redlining at 6800 rpms, you'll be good with up to 3:90's IMO. I"m currently running 3:90s and I trap 128mph with just a small bit left in my rpm band to hit maybe 130-131mph (with 27"-28") tall tire). So if I were to bump my 150hp shot to say.......200hp shot, I'd be using all my gear in 4th. But you got to remember that if your running at the drag strip........that is what you want to do.

My rear of choice ultimately would be the s60 (However, it only offers a 354, or 410 for my setup). On the spray what should I shift at. I hear a lot of different rumors. A buddy of mine said drop down and shift at 6,000 rpms, and spray from 3000 to 6000. Do you think that sounds about right. If you spray to redline and miss a shift wouldn't it be bye bye motor

The window switch will go in, but where do I set it at? It has different pills correct? What should I set the pills at when I receieve the kit? Again, what would be the setup of choice. Should I just stick with 373's and call it a day?
nah man don't sweat that. you set your rev-limiter higher than the window switch. so ultimately you may have to bump your rev-limiter to 6900 if you plan on spraying to 6800.

Yeah agreed I will def be looking to call them up. I know a few people who have dealth with them, and they say they recommend them highly. I don't think I would shift any higher than 6800 so I guess I'd set the pill at 6600 or 6700 and shift at 6800.
Still we've gotten a bit off topic, but I'm glad as it answered a few questions I had anyways.
So, what gearing should I look to run
