Default window switch rpm Question?

What rpms should I use on my window switch. I was thinking 4000-6600. right now I shift at 6700 @ WOT and the limiter is at 7000. Keep in mind I have a huge stall and big *** cam.

The on rpm will be determined by traction. as low as possible and still hookup. As far as the cutoff rpm goes 100 below shift point is good the more the cushion the easier it is on the transmission. I have mine set at 50 rpm below shift point

Goatnipples.
What are you thinking???/ thats the worst advice i have ever heard you certainly have never tried this yourself. All I can say is BIG BOOM with anything more than a 25 shot. THis guy is a noob looking for some solid advice not your pipe dreams.
and todd157????????? converter lockup before spraying????? again if you have no clue keep it to yourself I would feel really bad if you folks gave bogus info and someone blew there engine.
Import slayer try searching and read the stickies and if I were you I would never return to this thread again.

I know a few people that do spray below 3000 with dry and wet kits. I don't think it matters much with say 2500 on a dry kit but with wet I would stick with 3000 and up.

why spray below 3K rpms? are you deadhooking that hard? you must enjoy cylinder pressure!

i have a 4K stall converter and my window switch is from 3800 to 6800. i have a th400 so i dont worry about spraying through teh shifts. with my 4L60e i stoped it at 6500. i shift at 6800 rpms

"lockup" was the wrong word to use. But I wouldn't spray until the 4400 was near the end of stall.. I wouldn't BANG the sht out of the trans, rear etc.
As you stated.. he is a noob. Not a 9 sec pro with money to burn on trannys. Also, don't you think that 4400 is going to get just a little toasty when spraying / slipping??? Also, how the heck is spraying LATER going to "blow up an engine". Man talk about stupid.
You were very nice to point out everyones shortcomings.. but you didn't offer your own advise... which seems would be more valuable than the rest of us that don't know anything. I give you one point for my misuse of a word.

import slayer... Do some track runs to find where your TC is stalling to on NA. Start from there and work your way up for activation. So, if your shooting 150shot, and your TC stalls to say 4200 out of the hole, then start spraying about 4000, do a run and see where the lands the TC with nitrous. Some will stall much higher, some will stay near NA and just hit hard as hell. Its a trial and error thing. As for off RPM, I agree, the larger the cushion the longer your trans will last. When I was worried about the 4L60E with a 4000 stall, I left myself 200 rpms. Another thing you may want to play around with, try having it shift around 500-1000 rpms earlier, and adjust nitrous off accordingly. The lower RPM will build more torque and may give you quicker track times.

WTF are you guys talking about I said run a fjo mini nitrous controller. And have the nitrous cut out at whatever he shifts at. That way with this controllr he can tube it so the intial hit is "softened".

Thats cute I see you deleted your post were you told him to spray from an idle with a mini controler.
Todd the big boom comment was for goatnipple not you. And as far as the off rpm I stated that "I" only used 50 rpm cushion and was sure to explain the larger the cushion the easier it is on the trans. your unexplained quick statement about lockout left everyone confused so dont make it out that I was the onlyone that didnt know what the heck you "really" meant

I see what you meant I didn't clarify myself I shouldn't have used the word "idle" Sorry. Yes I did delete it. I will now sit down and raise my hand first.

goat...no need for the attitude really. Either you simply mistyped yourself with the "from idle" part which was edited by me, or you meant to say that, and later realized it was an ignorant thing to type. Either way means nothing really since there are loads of experienced shooters here that will catch stuff like that. For all I know you were joking with importslayer, however I dont want to run the risk of that one person reading your post and thinking its ok to spray from idle, then their **** blows up and blames the users in general of this site.
