I am running a 383 with 11.5:1 compression and was thinkin about spraying at most proabably a 150 shot was wondering if it would be safe spray with that kinda cr. The motor has 4340 forged crank and h beam rods with mahle forged pistons.

 

I'll be spraying a whole lot more than that with 11:1 compression

 

high compression + spray = FUN! Do it. Keep us posted

 

That's static. I don't think static compression is what matters. Your dynamic is what compression is actually happening when the valves are moving.

 

Nitrous loves compression, and that's really not that high. Some run much higher for spraying.

11.1 compression is not really all that much compression. Like said above Nitrous Likes compression. However the higher the compression the more precise the tune up needs to be.

Yeah. Nitrous is just adding oxygen so you can add more fuel..

 

FI doesnt like compression but nitrous loves it. Spray that thing with a 250 DP! As long as the rings were setup for it. If you werent setup for a big shot of n2o then 150 should be max is my guess.

 

spray it, I can't wait till the tracks aroung here open agian, and I can test out my new combo. BTW I would spray more than that,if your fuel system can handle it.

 

I've always heard that FI doen't like compression but I don't believe it.I have a friend that runs 10:1 and runs alot of boost.10:1 isn't alot but everybody that runs alot of boost usually runs around 8:1 which is great but you can run more.I know people that run 10.5 outlaw and outlaw DR and they run more compression than you think on nitrous and with turbo's.

True story, and the big dogs will also push running a little leaner also for more VE or power.

The big dogs in 10.5 outlaw run around 15:1(give or take a lil)compression and have 3 to 4 kits but they have dual 15 pd bottle and don't leave on alot of bottle pressure.I know a few turbo guys running 10:1 and pushing over 40 pds of boost.I know a lil here and there but i'll leave the tuning on all that to them.

 

Actually Static Compression is just as important as Dynamic compression but thats besides the point and i won't get into an Engine Theory and thermodynamics debate but i'll be spraying a 300-400 shot on 14.2:1 static 8.8:1 dynamic.

Just make sure you have enough clamping force on the heads as you bumo up the cylinder pressure to keep the heads from lifting.
