New to Nitrous...Need help
I think i may go with the HSW sudden impact single nozzle wet kit...
I will be getting the kit in the next couple months and i will have about 112k miles. Im planning on running a 100 shot.
Here are some questions:
1. I know i will need to upgrade my fuel pump so is an Inline pump good enough? Im confused on which pump to get.(inTank/Inline)
2. Which window switch should i use? So far i have looked at the BNM, Dynotune, MSD and Nitrous Outlet(digital)
3. I would also like to know which heater you guys recommend?
4. I am on the fence about a FPSS. Seems like they cause some problems, so should i use one?
5. I am also interestd in a bottle opener since i want to mount the bottle in the spare tire area. What opener is good?
6. Is there a difference in Purge Kits or does the brand not really matter?
Oh and i will get a set of Tr6 plugs
Sorry for all the questions. I just feel pretty confused because there are so many different companies to chose from and i want to do it right the first time.
Thanks for you help

1) I went with the Racetronix plug n' play kit, which includes a new walbro 255 for the tank, and all the necessary parts and connections for a complete stock drop-in, so you don't have to hack up the fuel bucket in the tank like many other kits. Also has a wiring harness that runs to the back of the altenator, so you're always getting max voltage to the pump, and thereby max flow. It also has the ability to add in a future boost-a-pump, which I believe is an inline pump. But with the base racetronix kit, you should be good up to ~600rwhp.
2) I have the nitrous outlet digital switch (which I believe is the same as the dynotune) and really like it. Can control two stages, and also allows you to use the TPS sensor signal as the WOT activation, instead of a mechanical micro-switch.
3) I went with the NX heater, however the 860 heater/bracket combo looks real nice. I think the general consensus is to go with a heater that operates off bottle pressure, rather than temperature.
4) I'm running one, I'd rather have the safety of one. I can't vouch for how well they work, since I've yet to fire my system (just finished instal about a week ago). I'd at least try one at first, its minimal cost, and if it is too flaky, take it out.
5) I have the NX which works well so far. I'd suggest getting a mechanical opener that turns the bottle valve, as opposed to a solenoid style like one of the NOS ones which uses an internal valve.
6) I don't think there's much difference in purge kits, other than I believe Nitrous Outlet (and maybe the other suppliers) offer an extra large solenoid kit.

1. Talk to Matt about the Fuel pump
2. The DynoTune and Nitrous Outlet Digital switch are the same, they are made by FJO, I highly recommend it as it was worked great for me. Matt has controllers as well, that are popular.
3. I am running the DynoTune heater works great. At the same time Matt has an great looking and innovative heater. Another option would be the 860 Bracket/Heater combo.
4. I am not running a FPSS but many recommend it. It just needs to be set correctly. I see about a 6-10 PSI decrease at WOT so probably 45 psi is where I would set it to come on if I had one.
5. I have a Dynotune opener, HSW has an opener as well. Since your getting/ looking at his kit, his opener will surely work with his bottle.
6. I have used Dynotune, Nitrous Outlet and HSW for components for my system, they were all top quality in my opinion. I don't think you could go wrong with any of their purge kits, or any of their systems.

Hopefully i can give Matt a call soon so he can help me out.
i'll look into it right now

edit: I just looked at their hot wire kit and it is priced at 59.99. So do i buy a fuel pump and run it with this kit?

2) MSD
3) NX heater
4) I say get one. Better safe than sorry, and they are not all that expensive.
5) NX opener
6) I'm running nx, but like stated check the Nitrous Outlet.
You may want to look into progressive controllers also.

I have no knowledge on progressive controllers so i will look into them tonite
From what I've seen the progressive controllers are more used on the bigger shots, I haven't seen too many people using them on 100 shots or less.
I recently picked up an MSD will pills and have gone a different route since then, let me know if you would be interested. I'll probably let it go with all the pills for somewhere around $65. You can PM or e-mail me at afman123@hotmail.com . I'll be going on vacation, so forgive any delays in communication.
Thanks for the controller info
