Rear end safety
Hey I was reading around and came across a thread where someone was talking about the window they'd be spraying in and it got me worried. Will I have any problems spraying 3000-5800 rpms with 100 shot at the track? Do you think I'll break my rear end with this? The car is mostly stock and since its not a ws6 its running on crappy 245 yokos. I was also planning on buying my friends drag radials though too. As far as how I launch, last time I was just taking it to 2000-2500 and just pedaling it so as to get minimal spinning. Think I'm safe?
get your rearend checked out before you take it to the track....also i heard the rearend covers help out a little bit if you dont have one...but that could just be a rumor...i wouldnt know for sure...
I was running 1.73 60ft times with 4.10's and DR's. My rearend has stayed together spraying a 150 shot with a small stall. I got a 9" going in this year because I drive the car to the track. It would only be a matter of time.
On street tires, i cant spray untill i get into 3rd, because i will just blister the tires off, and i have 275's on the back, not 245's. So i bought some ET streets, and now i can spray in 1st at about 3k like your wanting to do. My rear end has 136k miles on it and hasnt gone out yet, BTW your clutch will go out before your rear end will. Thats whats happening to me right now....

This is why i'm not spray'n yet. I feel that my rear end can't take it. The dumbshit who decided to use that crappy 10bolt at GM should get kicked in the sack!!!
