Default Purge push-button rating?

Hi all, a friend i know has a purge kit that he will sell me but lost the push button that goes along with it.

I was hoping to pick one up from radioshack/thesource but need to know the ratings.

I looked online at there website and most are 3amps max from what they sell, this was the one im interested in and looks just like the one dynotune sells click here also this switch click here

Please if anyone can help me out asap that would be great as im looking to install this tommorow.

btw would it matter if it was rated 125vac? instaed of 12vdc

I just bought one at autozone. If you run a relay for your purge you can use the lowest rated switch out there.

ahh yes a relay probably would work and let me use pritty much any switch out there, but i was hoping not to use one like most kits come with. plus i have so much wiring it would be more of a hassle for me.

(key power to one side of button, other side of button to purge noid, then from other side of noid to ground)

bump for if anyone knows the amp rating of these buttons and if the 125vac matters

I run a plain autozone pushbutton switch that is hardwired right to the purge with no relay, it works fine. I wouldnt get all worked up over the rating of a purge switch, its not like the switched is closed for more than a few seconds anyway.

LOL, it wont catch on fire. Your highest risk of a fire comes from the bottle warmer circuit.

the main reason for ratings is the initial closing of the circuit, over time the contacts of the switch will pit and will begin to affect switch performance.

on a purge with a small noid it won't matter unless you hold it down for like 30+ seconds at a time...

The Dynotune switch works fine.

Some folks do not like the square pushbutton though, I use radio shack switches for Line locks and purges in most of my panels (radioshack has a similar square pushbutton also).

The red one purge button is what I prefer (comes in Black also), these connectors can be used for wiring prongs. Model: 275-609 2 x 3A 250VAC momentary switches normally open - includes 1 red and 1 black

But where low profile is needed I use these (also available in Red), these are a pain to solder though. Rated 3 amps at 125VAC. Push button switch mounts in a 1/2" hole. Model: 275-644
Catalog #: 275-644

The Nitrous Outlet Purge button is nice too, as it is low profile but has a bigger footprint. All the switches in the panel below are Nitrous Outlet Style.

Opener switches I like the NX Opener switch where space is not an issue, and the Nitrous Outlet Opener switch where a smaller foot print is needed.

Using a relay will help the switches last longer, I use the momentary switches carefully and have had no problems with them.

Rockers I have been getting from Walmart, but I am going to change up the rockers I been using soon.
