id say if you can afford it goe solid.
right now its on my list, but $$ is an issue for me, so im sticking with hydrolic for now, but going solid would probably net atleast an extra 50 rwhp, and alow you to zing the motor higher which in turn alows you to run more gearing which in turn make for a faser car.
it isnt cheep, but is worth it

How much difference is from a hydrallic to a solid? about $1000-1500?

your looking at about 500 for lifters, 800 for rockers up to 1300 depending on what brand.
they you need to machine the heads for a better spring, then buy the better spring.
id say to look around the 2,000-2,500 range done right
