Default dry shot surging problem

I tried out my Harris Speed Works dry system today. Im having problems with it surging and bucking VERY badly. I had it on the wideband and it will start to richen up for just a second, then it shoots lean and surges. When it goes lean it feels like the kit has been turned off. Ive bypassed the WOT switch and it still does it. Ive also checked the grounds and they seem fine. Any help would be appreciated.

What angle is the nozzle, a 90*? and do you have the duty cycle on the injectors? Fuel pressure dropping? or stable and what psi? Nozzle postion looks fine. Sounds like it's working as it should if it's going rich right away, but then some glitch is keeping it from getting the fuel it needs ie: fuel pump, injectors, fpss, filter, tune etc (or air dynamics in the intake track which vary rarely happens)

Using a FPSS?
Is the MAF descreened?
Is the nozzle indexed (marked so you know where its pointed) and spraying at the MAF?
What size shot you using?

I would start with a 50 shot for troubleshooting, and look towards the FPSS if your running one, Give Matt a call if it is the FPSS, he can tell ya how to set it or do a search there have been a few threads on the subj fairly recently.

The car has 42 lb injectors with a racetronix pump. I don't have a fpss. I tested it several times and it is spraying on the wires of the maf...............maybe one side a little more than the other. I will put a new fuel filter in it this week to rule out that. I don't really know if the fuel is dropping off during that time. I don't have a gauge inside...........................When it does it it acts like I am turning the switch on and off.........it happens very quickly.................the first time I sprayed I didn't feel anything so I checked the wiring and then I took the lid off and looked to see if it was spraying a constant stream............It looked good. I will put in the 50 pill for future testing................MAF is descreaned

I recall seeing a thread with a similiar issue, and the nozzle was rotated and the problem went away. Sounds like you have everything covered.

u might want to dlb check your wot switch placement.

i had a kid that had a similar issue, and found his wot sw was slipping/moving slightly when he was rompin on it..engaging and disengaging.
little tightening and a little bit tighter bend to approx 90-95% throttle and it solved it.

just a thought.

Spraying directly on the wires could freeze the MAF and throw it off.

Try rotating the nozzle, other possibility maybe the bottle is not orientated properly and the siphon tube not picking up the way it should be.

I think the bottle is good, I have it mounted with the feed line facing down. It is mounted at around a 45 degree angle.

thanks

try rotating the nozzle to spray 180 degrees away from the MAF.

I guess that would let me know if it was freezing the wires up or not, but would that make it make run a little lean?

thanks

You could try moving the nozzle...I have pretty good luck with my setup, my nozzle sprays 90*.
