You need to make them a little larger so as the huge amounts of heat are applied to them while under nitrous load they ring ends do not come in contact with eachother. Also known as "butting" the rings and a major cause of broken ringlands. One of the comon failures associated with Nitrous usage

So how do u know if youre gap is to loose or to tight for a given nitrous hit??

lets say....
top-.028
2nd-.025

as apposed to robert56's
top-.028
2nd-.021

given each's ring gaps, what size nitrous hit would u use on those ring gaps??

For nitrous engines you want the 2nd ring gap larger than the top such as 24 top and 26 bottom....etc.

Thats how I always understood it. On a 3.9 bore ive always used .024 and .028 for nitrous motors.

It also depends on what size shot they plan on running. The larger the shot...the more you want to gap them.
