Default Shakedown passes with Weber Racing 403ci LS2

Headed out to Dragway 42 last night to make my first real spray passes. Runs were made with 93 octane and old 110 leaded in the standalone, with that in mind i didnt spray more then a 150 shot.

All motor with Nitrous tune
1.597 60
4.582 330
6.631 594
7.093 1/8
97.61 mph
9.220 1000
11.068 1/4
123.61 mph

100 shot
1.470
4.171
6.051
6.475
106.33
8.421
10.121
135.09

150 shot run 2 run 3
1.397 1.340 1.410
4.039 3.976 4.049
5.879 5.800 5.865
6.292 6.209 6.275
108.98 109.79 109.71
8.207 8.107 8.173
9.880 9.765 9.834
136.42 137.58 137.14

So far im happy with the new motor. Next time out ill up the shot, and get some race gas. And no Giant wheelstand this time, travel limiters did there job, on the 1.34 60 prolly only got 1-2 feet of air. Big thanks to Leo at Weber for helping me to get this motor together within my budget. If your looking for a new motor definatly check them out.

Should have a video up later today.

Those are some awesome results. I was talking to Leo about a shortblock. I just don't have the funds for it now. The results are here though and they have the best prices I've ever seen on shortblocks.

Awsome Numbers Jim!! I know that bottom end can take alot more spray then that, your just just begining to tickle that motor with that little 150 shot! It will be interesting to see the results when you put in the big boy jets!!

You guys sure did a good job on spec'n out that cam for Jim. We need to get a video up of the car, it sounds incredible! That Trickflow/Vengeance top half is hard to beat and makes great power all the way across the board!!!

Congratz and all that good stuff.

Please Please Please THIS IS NOT AN INSULT.

Your car gained 26 mph trap speed no Nitrous from the 1/8 to the end. IMPRESSIVE

Now you run a 100 shot the car improves another 3 mph? Why? In my old eyes it should be more. If I looked do you identify the gear you're running? To lazy what gear do you run? What rpm are you trapping at?

I must be crazy because no one else is mentioning this

Look at the overall gains. Nearly 12 on both the 1/8th and 1/4th. That is SOLID for 100 shot. The car must be leaving a ton on the table NA to gain that much on the ****.

Again I am not flaming I am just interested why?

I also understand what a shakedown run is, But

Generally unless you add more h.p. trap speeds won't change much

Using Nitrous Outlets web page I saw the following. I'll assume all cars were running a 150 shot. Assume the runs posted are the cars best. Perhaps Chris wants to tell us how much hp each car ran?

9.85 140

10.1 131

9.54 142

9.71 142

9.90 142

9.13 149

The car I questioned ran 137 on his 150 shot. Again great times I am not flaming. Why is the trap speed down. I want every car here to always run at it's best. What am I missing?

Here is the videos I took of Jim at the track. I'll have to let him tell you what runs they were, because I can't read the time board, due to these were taken on my hand held digital photo camera.

Wow, great results on a 150 shot! Let me know how it responds to bigger shots in the future.

We now have the nitrous exhaust port finished for these heads. It uses a 1.60" diameter valve and the port is around 5cc bigger.

Congrats again!!

Assumption is the mother of all Fuckups. One reason may be that im close to being out of gear, and verter wasnt built for this much power.

Thanks for all the compliments guys, Brian could you PM me a price to upgrade to the bigger exhust port? I may get that done if i send my converter out to get tightened up a little.

Thanks Ron, Cam is working good. I was able to get it to idle around 900rpms. Its not bad on the street, prolly put 200 street miles on it so far. I'm sure it would be alot better if i could run in Speed density.
