Default Ring gap numbers for a 9 thousands over piston?

I have a built 383 stroker kit all stroke. But i had to go with 9 thousanths over pistons, the machine shop said it was really 10thousands. What should i gap the rings at for 150 shot?

Just a guess. There are calculations to go by if you can find them.

For a 3.9 bore I like those numbers as well.

Thanks for the info i ended up calling Eric from HKE and he told me the same thing. Damn they had already gaped them for 14 and 17 on the bottom that would of sucked bad. I went ahead and did the 24 on top and 28 on the bottom.

Are those numbers good for a daily driver. I have been told that they are too loose and i will be smoking in no time? Is that true i dont know if they are pulling my leg or not.

Man im glad to hear that. I work at a motorcycle dealership and i was talking to the mechanics about the car, when i told them the gap sizes they freaked out. I had already talked to a couple of guys at machine shops and they told me those were good numbers but i never told them it was going to be my daily driver. I should be good then with those number they already gaped them and done all the honing so its good to go. Thanks for the help 6Speeder.

No problem. I set-up a motor with 30 all around and it never used a drop of oil. Also the gaps are based on bore diameter so a motorcycle gap will tend to be smaller due to the smaller bore.
