Default Stand alone Fuel location?

alright i have run into a sort of "predicament"

i bought my buddies custom built stand alone fuel cell, nitro daves plate kit, and some other goodies from him.

well... .he included a custom fabbed intake kit made out of aluminum he used on his car.

i have now realized that the stand alone i bought will not work with my vararam. it just wont fit where its supposed to

so my options are as follows......

ditch the vararam, use his intake, and mount everything like he had it mounted.

or...

Mount the stand alone in the truck with some custom mounts, run a fuel line all the way up to the front of the car, keep the vararam.

i REALLY want to keep my vararam because it really is a sweet intake system. Will it hurt anything to run a braided line from the fuel cell in the trunk up to the nitrous kit in the front of the car??

where should i run the line if i do that? inside the car would be suicide im thinking... but vettes dont really have alot of options underneath the car to run a line..

opinions??

OR another option.
Get ahold of Dave and see if he can modify that tank to the vararam style.

Dave, at my request from sometime back, makes a dedicated for the Vararam, the #1 used CAI on the Vettes. There are some pics around on the site, somewhere. I plan on using one for my standalone for dry.

ok so there are lots of people saying dont run the line, but not really any reasoning why? is there a reason or is it mostly just personal preference?

I will check with the Fab shop to see what it will cost to refab that tank into the one for your intake.

You really do not want to mount the tank in the back of the car with the regulater on it. The reason why is that you will have a huge lean spike with the return regulater in the back of the car.

I work at a fab shop and made mine out of stainless steel and got all the fittings and filler cap from Summit Racing and made it from the same dimensions as the battery and moved the battery to the spare tire well.

its like running an auxillary fuel tank on a truck. regular on the street get to the track flip a switch, let it flow thru and bam race gas on a toggle. saves from only using half your race fuel at the track and the other half on the way home.

No, look closely. The standalone is going to the (Fuel Solenoid) on the direct port .I have two sets of rails one(red) is for the injectors (high pressure) and the other (Polished) is the nitrous direct port rails (low pressure) . The nitrous fuel system is independent. I have a low pressure Holley (blue) fuel pump mounted beside the standalone tank ,you just cant see it (hidden) in the fender. When i flip the arming switch it turns on the fuel pump. You will need a fuel pressure regulator to maintain the pressure ,i put a bypass hose with a .013" fuel jet inline on the bypass so the fuel pressure would not build up or over load. And i also run CAM-2 racing fuel in the standalone just for the nitrous system.

Oh o.k., well if you do that you'll haft to put a inline check valve in the standalone and the stock fuel line so you wont send fuel back to the tank your not using at that moment, and to keep the fuel pressure up.And anouther thing you'll haft to blead the fuel out of the rails to get the racing fuel in the injectors, there is a bout a haft pint fuel in them.you could burn it out at the track by letting it idle but when street racing like at a red light or a suprize run ,you cant get the stock fuel out of the rails in time.

It'll be all automatic with a flip of a sw, and I run the '97 return at the rails. No need for check valves. Think electric 3-way fuel noids, yes I have used them before.
