Default Dry Kit Essentials

Hey guys. Lately the struggle for me has been my car being under warranty, and not being able to modify it to my hearts desire. Well yesterday I had an idea that maybe a small hit of nitrous could feed my need to modify, and go a bit faster. While im sure nitrous would void my warranty, its also pretty easy (relative to cam, heads etc) to remove in case something did go wrong. So far my only requirements are SAFETY. I freaking love my car and to see it hurt hurts me just as much. With that being said I also know the consequences, and risks involved with running nitrous. With that being said, I would like to build a system that is effective, and safe. Its also very important to me for this system to be as hidden as possible....for obvious reasons So....the breakdown:

A Nitrous Kit (dry) capable around a 100 shot (maybe 125)
Air/Fuel Gauge to monitor under nitrous
Nitrous pressure gauge
Trans Temp gauge (A4)

And anything else you guys have to suggest in terms of safety. Thanks guys!

I would check out this sticky it should give you plenty of understanding about how to spray safely. Good luck.

If you do an Air/Fuel Gauge make sure it is a wideband. Another option would be to spray it on a dyno that has a wideband, just to make sure everything is okay. Besides the kit figure a RPM window switch, fuel pressure safety switch and a bottle heater along with a set of NGK TR6 spark plugs and you should be all set to safely spray her!

Correct me if im wrong but do i need a RPM window switch for an auto? I was planning on hitting it manually after about 4000 RPM. Also, am I foolish to ever spray this thing with out any dyno tuning? I'd imagine a watchful eye on the Air/Fuel gauge would suffice. keep em coming guys!

A window switch isn't needed but it is somthing that you wouldn't have to watch while tryin to go down the track.

But we have a guy here at work that did what you are planning.. He juiced his car up with the warranty. He forgot to take traction control off or somthing like that and the engine blew. He went to pontiac (he has a GTO) and they knew that he had been sprayin his car. Although, they did fix his motor but told him not to come back again for warranty work at least on the motor.

No, you don't NEED one, but it's a good idea to run one. Even if you will be spraying through the shifts and just using it for the turn on RPM point, at least it's there incase part of the driveline fails and the motor taps the rev limiter.

As long as you can verify A/F you should be ok, no need for a N2O tune unless you already have an aggressive NA tune.

Wow guys thanks for all your help this far! I feel a lot more confident making this purchase now. I was planning on getting FPSS from HSW, so I was wondering what pressure would I need? This is going on a Lid, TB, and Exhaust only car. Also, is 300 bucks pretty much the going rate for a wideband gauge/sensor? If so I might be lookin' for used Right now I'm really worried about the wiring...is it possible to setup nitrous and remove it without any damages to the car?

Wideband option for you at $269 complete:

More info:

FPSS at $39.95
http://www.dynotunenitrous.com/store...?idproduct=135
This may be a bit more than others but we include a chrome fitting as well as pre setting the FPSS for you.

As far as the wiring just be careful and you should be able to remove it with no damage to the car at all.
