How do the these ET streets work on the street when heated up??? Guys have said that the nittos work better on the street than at the track...Does anyone know if these ET streets work great on the streets, like they do at the track???

the only reason nittos are the preferred street tire is because they are much better in the rain. id run et streets 24/7 if i had a car worth having them and a good dd

Are the Mickey Thompson Drag Radials the way to go then? I am looking at the 3743r (275/40/17) to replace my Nittos? I would like to run them on the street and strip if that will work. I have read that they only get about 5-7k miles on them and aren't as good as the Nittos in the rain, but I would like something that will hook on the street and strip if possible. Otherwise I guess if the MTs aren't any better on the street I will just buy the MTs for the strip only. Let me know. Thanks.

Yes!!! m/t drag radials are the ****, I had nittos before also m/t are way better!!! I run 13-15 lbs in mine, mine like lower psi, nittos seem to like higher psi 18-22. They have a new style of m/t drag radial coming out soon, they have a 295-45-17 , see if you can find a set of those.

I hooked pretty good spraying it out the hole on a 125 shot 26/11.5/16 et street 1.46 only suspension mod was rear drag shocks and front sway bar delete. I think you need a good tire on the car. When I see high powered cars with nitto dr's I usually figure there not going to hook and I havent seen one hook like it should yet. I also see some people with nittos doing short burnouts and then you know there pretty much not going to hook it they do wear pretty good on the street though I have heard. The mt drag radials seem like a good tire. If you want a full slick I would recommend a skinney up front as it usually sways with a bias ply (full slick) and a big radial up front. I now have 28'' et drag's and they hook real well although I havent cut my best 60ft ever on them most likely do to the track prep (different track) but I do 60ft more consistant and I know givin the right track I will 60ft just as good or better. We also run an 03 cobra and he switched from et streets (slick) to et drags and the et drags hook much better.

I chimed in earlier before I studied my time slip and I pulled a 1.492 60 ft. with 100% stock suspension. The mickey thompsons are awesome, I ran mine at 20 lbs. and spun just a little, went down to 18 lbs. and it hooked hard without any spinning at all. I have mt e.t. drag radials.

at the track I run et. streets with a good burnout the hook well.......the tire I change back to on the street is et. street drag radial like the pic. that was posted. The street radial on my car has to be shocked to hook. You know froma standing start they will light up... but from just a slight roll they hook.So if your running street radial you might want to leave on motor and hit the juice at the 60' or just short of the 60' with the et. streets they need a good burnout but with the street radial's not so much so imo

I am curious do most of you have a 12 bolt running the MT street radial or do any of you have a stock rear. I have a 2.73 stock rear with and A4 trans and stock stall w/100 dry shot that I spray at 3000 rpm. I want to know if I'm likely to blow out the rear end with the MT on the launch assuming I don't spray the nitrous until the tires have hooked.

well just everybody knows i use the m.t and they suck outa the hole with a 2.00 60ft time with a 150 shot and my bro uses the nitto with a 150 shot and gets a 1.58 60ft time with all the same mods. the m.t just buckin blew the tires off with 15 psi and lots of heat at route 66 dragway house of hook. so u cant mock the tire its always track condition, driver, suspension, power, psi that all takes place. but the nitto i would say just do a good burn out and then launch at about 2400 with the stick and/or automatic just flatstab it. you will be satisfied with the launch
