Default Question: Dry kit is going lean

I put a dry kit on my 01 SS, its a single nozzle kit and we have it spraying on the neck of the lid pretty close to the mass air. Well we had about a 50 shot in it just to check the air/fuel on the dyno for the first spray. Well it jumped up in the 14 a/f range and we let out. Should we move the nozzle back to the side of the lid? Would it help to do a dual nozzle and spray from both sides? Its a cam only car, full exhaust if that helps for anything.

Have the nozzle spray right at the MAF wires, if that is not the issue, you may be out of injector, can you log injector duty cycle?

You dont think its too close to the mass air now? I think I can log the injector duty with the gauge thats in the car. Wouldnt it be running on the verge of lean on the motor if an injector was out?

What fuel pump do you have in there. I had the same issue... Fuel pressure gauge showed that fuel pump couldn't handle it and fuel pressure was dropping therefore causing the vehicle to go lean....

I thought it would have enough fuel pump when running a dry kit? Im not sure which is in there, probably stock. So even with the dry kit yours went lean CK-1? I was really hoping it was too close to the meter and it was not picking up the nitrous??? Anyone else?

Wet or dry, nitrous is still nitrous and requires the same amount of fuel for the same amount of nitrous. The wet or dry only determines how the fuel is added, not how much you need. Check injector duty cycle, check fuel pressure.

What else is done to the car? Stock injectors as well?

IMHO your mass air meter is freezing...try turning the nozzle towards the front of the vehicle, away from the mass air meter. Mine went from 13.8 to 12.2 just by doing that.

The MAF will not and does not freeze, period (see my web, i jhave 4 nozzles within 3 inches of MAF and sprayed upto a 285rwhp shot and no freezing). The scenerio you have and you suggest is normally just the spray getting past the MAF wires. This can be caused by being to close, nozzle style, alignment or out of adjustment and missing or only partialyhitting MAF wire. When you point a single away as you suggest, then you'll likely have a lean spike upon activation. Best to have dual nozzles, then you can tune a/f for mid 11.x, your stuck with what you have and a little lean for bigger shots. Two, with one pointed away from maf would prob net you the mid 11 a/f.
