Default Who has sprayed 350

I have a 2001 Z I have a 347 with Diamond pistons and rings, Scat H beams, head and main studs, acl coated bearings, Patriot Stage 2 heads 59cc, my own custom grind 246/254 .598/.598 112+4, with my pistons its 11.1:1 compression, comp 7.40 pushrods, rollmaster double roller, trans is a locally built 4l60e with an Edge 5000 stall, the rear end is a 12 bolt with 4.56 gears, and im running a 28 by 10 inch tire 3640 race weight.

What do you all think itll do with a 350 hit all out of the hole?

You need a good set of head studs, great tuning and fuel system, and a strong motor. Its hard to keep the heads down with a 350 out the hole.

5000 stall...you may be able to get away with it if your spraying from say 4500-5000 on up and set everything else up to ensure you limit TQ spikes.

I have done 325 shots in dual stages where both stages where spraying at 4800 rpm with no problem at all. This was with cometics and regular ARP studs. It was on a 383 though so that reduces cylinder pressure a small amount over a 347.

We did a 408 with a 400 shot with both stages spraying by 4800 as well. That was with Cometics and regular ARPs as well too.

Either way youll be right on the edge. Plenty of octane and plenty of timing retard!

And a fresh set of Cometics handy!

ARP L19 head studs give 40% more clamping force over their standard studs. I am running the MLS gasket and the L19s, and I will see a 350rwhp shot, but like was said, spot on tune-not to much timing and highest octane fuel you can get and some cold plugs, oh and I would dual stage it. I would go for it if ya have the $$ to keep on top of things.

It will turn the 5000 stall to a 7000 stall. LOL its not going to work ...with a 5000 stall a 150 shot would be pushing it!

What dont you understand about your converter will not work for a 350 shot.

Default 4l60e

well the weak point of a stock 4l60e is the planetaries but people use a turbo 350 and it only has 3 pinion planetaries and they dont explode so whats so weak about a built 4l60e and the converter has an anti-balooning plate for nitrous and i asked what would it run if i can keep the heads down im not worried about the trans or converter.

the clutches do not have the holding power, it's not that it will explode, it won't hold the power long enough to cause it to blow up, and your anti balloning plate will just keep the converter from exploding, it has nothing to do with blowing through the converter causing it to work outside it's operating range.

you might make it to the 60ft but not much farther, you have 20k+ posts worht of experiance telling you what till happen these guys know what they are talking about.

never even thought about this part of replying to a topic with all these big-gun'd posters/members in a thread. Then again I have one of the higher post counts in this thread as well

High 5's in the eighth is no joke, thats an 8 sec pass in the 1/4.

it's going to take more than what your packing under the hood specially with that race weight.
