nitrous backfire down the track?
nitrous backfire down the track? I was just wondering....All of the intake backfires I have seen have happened when coming off the line. Has anyone ever witnessed an intake backfire while the car is already goin down the track?
yes at the finish oine i watched a c6 go up in flames...most people bog off the line and backfire....are you wanting to know why they do this going down the track? i have an idea but not sure
Had a high rpm back fire, at about 7000rpm. Sounded like a sonic boom, and buddies in the pits heard it and new it was I. WS did not break nitrous flow and hit cars limiter and it pulled fuel, and a big dry hit.

Oh yea, but it's a bigtime stroked/bored/forged all the best goodies 408 iron block. A lesser motor probably would have suffered some type of internal damage. I did blow the back of the intake (ls6), but because it was a dry hit the explosion wasn't as forcefull as a wet backfire and thus the rails stayed in place and no fire. Now on to a Fast intake or an aluminum for more strength, on both types over stockers.

I did twice the other day at the track. Both at the top of first gear, it popped and started the carb on fire. Nothing serious, I let off the throttle and it suck the flames out and I was able to keep cruising down the track.
