i put mine in a deep freeze over night, filled it the next day and sure as **** popped a burst disc as soon as it got 70 degrees outside with the windows cracked. Took out a t-top and f-ed up my interior real nice. i won't let mine get near a freezer for than a few minutes anymore

Thats because it was severely overfilled. A 10lb bottle weights approximately 25lbs when full of nitrous...but if its cold enough will hold 14lbs easy. But when it heats up, that 14lbs expands and creates lots of pressure. Your bottle should always be cool to the touch when filling (at a minimum).

*i always check a bottle completly empty before filling also. i have found up to 2lbs. difference in different bottles especially with gauges and such.

So I take it, the guys that freeze the bottles, dont have a pump station?
How many pounds can you get in the bottles with freezing them?
Having a pumping station at my disposal is so nice! ;-)

The last time I got mine filled, I let it sit overnight in the fridge. Then the next morning I drove about 40 mins to get it filled. It was still very cold to the touch.
The reason for getting them cold isn't (or shouldn't be) to cram more nitrous in, but rather make filling to the CORRECT level, easier.

I am thinking of renting a cylinder from a gas supply store. The Cylinder will be $45 a year and it is $150 to fill it. That breaks down to $2.80 vs the performance shop here in town wants $4.85. What all will I need to buy to go along with the Cylinder itself, hoses fittings etc. I plan on using the freezer and scale method of filling. Can't aford a pump station right now.

youll just use a hose (preferably with a filter on it) to go between the big bottle and the car bottle. plus theres a certain few other steps someone here will need to tell you i dont know.
