Default Solid Roller with Nitrous?

How many of you guys have a solid roller motor with nitrous? What, if any benefit do you find running solid roller over hydraulic? Solid rollers should make more power and be more consistent at higher rpms. I just talked to someone who spins there hydraulic motor to 7500 to 8400 rpm's without any problems. This is an NA motor, so it does not see nitrous. He did say his motors are balanced and machined extremely well which is a must.

Solid roller here....It is about your complete setup.....Solid roller needs a really good intake to be able to run at the higher RPMs effeciently. The more motor hp you make the less nitrous you have to spray to get to your goal. My solid roller 410 makes 602rwhp/720through a TH400 and 9in. I spray alot of dry nitrous.

SOunds like you dont know your *** from your face.

Mine has been to 8400 plenty of times but the most recent cam liked to be shifted at 7800 or so with the light set it 7600

As for the original post. just having the exhaust valve be able to open under all that pressure is worth HP. and having more area under the curve on the given duration is PIMP!

Mine is hydrolic but i sold that its be solid next year

I run a solid roller, i run it up around 8,000 do to the heads, my car seemeded to like 8,000 over that the heads didnt want anymore.

i know a ple of guys spinning to 8400-9,000 with solid roller with spray.

i realy like my solid roller it seems to keep everything smoother imo, hydrolic works, but solid to me is a little more forgiving with lifters ect.

Right now I'm hindered by budget, but I'd love to run a solid setup.

Ambers car??you think here valve train is just a regular hydrolic roller ??LOL.Anyone who spins a hyd. car to 8400rpms is asking for problems.I've spun my street cars to 7400ish without issue aswell.I wouldn't grind a cam for a hyd. car that would need to be spun that high to make power though.why not put a lifter in and be dun.

Yup pal, were all idiots. No titanium valves here, just single springs and stock diam duals. This stuff won the pump gas drag this year, another most legit 9 second street car at the PGD, last year ATV did, finished 3rd in the LSx NA class because we stayed together making passes (not because the chits fast ) and one is currently the fast hyd NA car.

How many times have you been 8.9s or 9.0s and driven your nitrous car home? We can so we choose to build em. Nitrous and rpm get along quite well, and were lazy so we made it happen.

No. Didnt figure this stuff out to listen to you spout off w/o looking both ways before you crossed the street and then turn around and tell you how to do it. If it cant be done though for $500 Ill let you adjust the rockers on a couple cyl so you can see its hyd or look at the stock rocker arms on Shiz car... if it aint Ill give you $500

I can understand having that attitude if YOUVE never done it, but when a few guys tell you they do it all day, then the old dog should realize maybe so... 23 I guess is new dog timeframe? lol

You dont haveta, but I like rpm with lots o cyl pressure around, so we turn rpm

Grannyshifting, do see a benefit from a more aggressive cam profile running solid lifters compared to hydraulic? Seems, once you get to a certain rpm the dynamics of how the hydraulic lifters work, would place the solids at the forefront of efficiency. Insight?

solid is without a doubt moreprecise control...how much more precise is the question, is it necessary for what you want to do. Shiz car went 157 at 3300 lbs with an iron block and simple afr 225s that was enough

Definitely SOMETHINGtogain by having a solid lifteropeningup against the gas load of a nitrous engine, but can be done well enough to go fast

ashleys car has been 9.6 so far, that was enough
