Noob to N20
Hey guys, i've been on ls1tech for a while and am looking for mods to buy for christmas. I was thinking of picking up a dry kit from Dave's (brand X dry kit). I was also thinking of getting a window switch, wot switch, Nitrous Safety controller from Dynotune, purge and the HSW Interface Air to Fuel & Timing Controller. I really don't want to get a tune because thats another $450 I don't want to spend right now. Is this a resonable setup? Am I missing anything? Please set me in the right direction. I just want a fast switch to play with, so I won't be spraying everyday and I will probably limit myself to a 100-125 shot just to be safe for the motor. Also is the HSW air/fuel/timing controller used my kind of setup or is this a more advanced item for big shots (200+).

n20 is a ton of fun if its setup proper the only things i see your missing would be a blown down tube and heater which might come with the kit and some tr6s plugs i would get it tuned though thats one of biggist n20 rookie mistakes is throwing it on and going even with the interface you still need a pro to tune it your changing the whole chemical makeup of air intake on the jug timing should be pulled but in some cases dosent need to be but in still a amatur iv only had it about a year and still learning

I ran a 100 shot dry on my car when i first got it,with no tune,i have ran a bunch of nos on my car, with something that small like 100-125,wouldnt worry bout a tune, but maybe some of the experts on nitrous will chime in to help to!Goodluck!

Yes and plugs too that another necessity that I forgot. As for tuning I've heard that if you are still running a stock tune your ok and shouldn't need a nitrous tune. Also I was planning on running a single nosle in the lid. Again i've heard that this is both good and bad, your thoughts?

Sounds like it could be a decent setup, I like the safety precautions you're taking. And on the HSW Interface, it'll help make it even more safe, so no reservations there either You may have mentioned this and I just missed it, but a fuel pressure safety switch is a good idea also. NGK TR6's gapped down to .035, incase that hasn't already been mentioned lol..

Thanks for the info guys you are reinforcing my confidence, but what i'm really wondering is, if it is safe to run the way I plan on running with out a n2o tune. If I absolutely must have a tune (~$450) then I might as well get a full exhaust and have it installed. Please let me know if my logic is flawed.
Thanks again

Is running it without a tune the safest way? Not even close....will the items you have listed get you by without a tune? I don't see why not, many people have sprayed more with less

on a small shot like the 100 dry you can get away with it tons of people have because the mass reads the extra air and compensates the fuel and the ecu will pull timing if it motor picks up knock but it is not the right way it should be tuned thats just how i feal i take my **** to excotic performance every spring cause i always change something on my setup i do it right you wouldnt throw a turbo on and not get it tuned and think its going to be alright
