I got my 5177 kit all hooked up with a MSD window switch, purge kit, and bottle heater. Now of course i tired it out but i really cant tell if its working or not. I got the 75 shot pills in the thing and i really cant tell a difference. Is there an easy way other then just spraying the car to see if the kit is engauging and turning off when its supposed to??? any ideas..thanks

 

I'm assuming you're running off a WOT switch. If that's the case, leave the juice off, floor it in like 3rd gear. Then turn the nitrous on while you have it floored. You should feel the 75 shot kick in. It won't feel like much though. You'll be bumpin' it up to 150 before long.

 

Weigh the bottle.

You should be able to feel the 75 shot though. Or at least hear the motors RPM change.

Do you have it set at 1st gear lock out? (not familair with your W.S)

 

What bottle pressure are you running ? 75 shot @ 1100psi should fill like passing gear kicking in on a automatic at least. When i first put mine on i have problem with the fuel pressure safety switch not letting it in gauge.

 

If you can't feel it, it's not working. Even on a 75 shot it will be night and day. First, check all of your grounds. The next easiest thing would be to bypass the window switch. If it still doesn't work, jumper WOT, and next the FPSS. Just remember to only jumper one safety feature at a time to narrow down the culprit.

 

since ur in indiana, is ur heater working? i sprayed mine in 30 degrees just to see if it was spraying from about 40 (no heater). it never hit hard but i could see the mph climbing alot faster. if u don't notice anything then its probably not the heater.

 

I got the kit working just a couple of switched wires...But holy ****, now i know why you guys are crazy about this nitrous stuff. Man i only had a 75 shot at 950 psi. and it was a blast. I guess my nitrous cherry has been offically popped...

this isnt worth starting a full thread, but u auto guys trust running 150 on ur auto's? how long have u ran the stock auto before it blows? or are u using a pill kit to cut it before the shifts?

 

Window Switch controls it so you don't spray through a shift.. although there are several that just shoot through the shifts. Trans life will be shortened.

 

yup, i used to spray through through shifts. now after i put a converter in im pretty sure my trans is circling the drain.

 

It's more fun to use nitrous with a stick and use a button on the steering wheel instead of the wot switch.
