Default Will my theoretical progressive shot work?

I have a 02 t/a full boltons, torquer v3, full suspension, t-56, 275 gs-d3's, will be putting on a 150 wet kit w/ a progressive controller. 3.42 stock rear.

Basically the goal is 11s on street tire which i can very well see it happening. I also want to be able to add some reliable power on the street. Especially would like to get it a little peppier in the 1/8th mile and right off the line.

Basically, can i make the nitrous shot effective at all in 1st gear on street tires w/ a progressive controller?

Here's a graph i drew of my theory:

Each gear is shown 1-4: yellow is traction threshold ... black is what a stock engine feels like to me.... blue is what my long tubed, cammed engine feels to me..... red is where i plan to add some power.

I realize i have it sprayin from zero in the graph and i know that is a bad idea. What is the lowest i can start to add nitrous?

My car isn't that fast in the 60 foot or 1/8th mile but after that, it goes crazy. I hit the traps at the beginning of 4th gear. I dont have the nitrous in yet.

I am wondering if a progressive shot down low (very small shot) will help ?
I feel there is a bit more to be gotten out of my tires by spraying a bit down low. Experimentation will find the right amount.

Will nitrous backfires be an issue if i add a shot at say 3grand?

First of all you should never be below 3k RPM ever while racing. Your a M6, why would you be? You should throw a window switch with a Micro switch and be done with it.

edit, leave those gay *** drawings in the Trash Can.

My illustrations are to help visualize what i am trying to get across, i feel that there is a low spot in 1st gear due to a big cam that is lacking power that can be made up with the nitrous.

WHat controller are you using? Are you able to do seperate percentages by gear?

The graphs arent very useful because you dont know what the theoretical traction limit is. You just going to have to set it up by trial and error really.

As for a backfire...its not likely...possible yes but not likley. Just keep the spray above 3000 or so and progress it and a backfire will be very unlikley.

if black is what a stock engine feels like and your cammed car feels slower, first get a tune and work the bugs out. then play with the nitrous and feel the difference.

I just got a headache.

I don't know exactly what's going on, but maybe just set it to spray 35% in first, 50-60% in 2nd, and 100% in third and fourth. Just enough in the first two gears getmaintain decent traction. It's alright if the tire's slipping a little as long as you can keep it straight.

use a window switch that turns it on above 3000 and shuts it down before you shift. Id say do a first gear lockout, especially if you have 4.11's in the rear.

What product(s) do you guys recommend for me to run my nitrous system?

I want to have a very light shot in 1st, then probably progressive in 2nd and on.
I want a window switch, fpss, and tps sensor of course.

I saw this : http://www.trickperformanceproducts.com/tpp_00019.htm and it is kind of nice because it has a/f shutoff for lean and rich which would be sweet if it works with my lc-1. It also controls my heater.

Should I go with this setup or is there a cheaper way to get the options i desire?

Sorry bout the bad drawings, just made em to get my point across to a friend and included em here.

I exaggerated the down low power loss a bit in the diagrams. I have hptuners and a wideband. I will toy around with a/f and spark down low a bit but i think the tune is very good atm.

I am thinking about going with the trick controller.
It has some awesome features and i think would make a great addition to the car.

Bottom line: i want to use nitrous to add as much muscle as i can without destroying the car.

Maximizer II will do what you want, it'll be cheaper and faster if you just buy a set of tires though. It takes A LOT of time and testing and as soon as you switch roads(concrete to asphalt) it all changes, so you need to dial it in on the asphalt road and it'll work on concrete then.

That being said, with the max II I could hook 500ft lbs of tq in 1st on my trailblazer SS on the stock 20's and street tires on the street. Without the progressive it would spin pretty good when the nitrous came on at 3000rpms on the street.

I'd also add that it doesn't do so great b/c you have the stock gear. I would atleast put some 3.73's in it. That would wake the car up tremendously in the 60ft and 1/8 mile. With some of the controllers, you can lock out first gear(best bet unless you have some real tires under the car) then in 2nd bring in the nitrous on the progressive...
