IMO yes they are, I'd put a #7 in there at least to start with. Again, starting too hot will hurt stuff, starting too cold isn't going to hurt anything, worse case you will foul out a set of plugs.

You should be o.k. with the #8 as long as you put some good fuel in there with it. Nothing less then 116, I'd opt for torco 118 if it is available. Make sure you pull enough timing too, 2 degrees per 50 hp, especially to start!

And make sure you shut the car off at the end of the track, pull over as fast as possible and pull some plugs and check them. If you're doing this size hit without a directport, definately pull #5 and #7, as they tend to run the leanest. I'd probably run the car to the 1/8th and shut it off the first run, beter safe then sorry.

local torco dealer carries it, any fuel supplier should be able to order you anything you want, you just have to ask for it.

Will try that out for sure. Im going to upgrade this year to a direct port but wanted to try the 2 stage nx kit out. I found c16 race fuel from a buddy of mine that owns a gas station. Is there anyway to keep the #5 AND #7 from leaning out. Any certain way to turn the Shark nozzles I know for you smart a$$ point it toward the center of the intake lol. Mine are mounted behind the maf. thanks

As far as tunning goes if you put a tr7 vs a tr8 does this effect you tunning / air fuel tables. Basically what I mean if the car is tunned on a tr7 then will it not run as good on a tr8 thanks

you can change the plug, it won't really mess with the tune. I've swapped from #7's to #9's and back to #8's and the tune never changed, I just tried all the plugs to see what the car liked the best (for me n/a it was the #8)

I have the 7's and gapped at .030 and no fouling thus far; though, my cam is not as nasty as yours. With that monster cam and idling, you may have problems fouling even the 7, hard to say. What is your idle rpm? Might want to bump it up a bit. My 23x cam idles finicky and I have been thinking on upping the idle a few RPMs to help the eye burning syndrome, lol.

I have had the 6's turn into blow torches with a 285 shot, so no more extended tip plugs for me (the 7's and up are not extended tipped).

fire the tuner if they can't clean up idle to run the colder plugs.

It will run safer, and faster longer with the colder plugs!

For those reading along, the #8 is only ½ point colder than the 7; whereas, the 7 is a point colder than the 6.
