4.10 m6 and a 100 shot
Here is my question. I have a 9" getting built right now and having 4.10 put in it. I have HSW dry kit that I would like to use on the car. I will be running slicks but wanted to know if I could use 26" slicks and still have enough tire to keep car in 4th going trough the traps.
I had 4.10s in the car with the 7.5 and loved them and wanted to stay with 4.10s on the gas.
I have a stock motor with long tubes, lid, and efilive.
Anyone have a similar setup or have any idea on how this will work?

Didnt get chance to go to the track that much this year with wedding and all. Plus this car need a lil work before I tke it to the track. It did pull pretty hard on my Tbss that runs high 12's very low low 13.0's. So it does show some promise. That was before anything besides 4.10s, lid and a tune

Play around with that. A 26" bias-ply is going to grow a bit, so figure on 27" or so, base your MPH off of that.
With a 6100rpm limiter and figuring 27", you're going to be on the limiter at 120mph, probably cutting it close for a stock car on a 100 shot. You could always put some valve springs/pushrods in it and bump up the limiter, then you'd have plenty.

What about a 75 shot?
I would still change springs and rods but you think I could get awsy with 26" tires?
I am not going to spray the car all the time I just will if I need to

..... I think he is more worried about hitting the limiter while spraying.
Unless you rev that thing pretty high you are probably going to need a taller tire. My car in sig is the first car I have driven with 4.10's and I love it. I was running 26" tall tires on my old car with the stock 3.42's and spraying a 150 shot wasn't a big deal at all.
Now I am going to be spraying a 150 shot on the LE2 motor that is in the new WS6 but with that car having 4.10's I am going to have to run a 28" tall tire. I rev the motor to 6500 on a regular basis, but with the stock bottom end and already pushing a little over 400 HP to the wheels, I don't want to rev it past 6100-6200 on the spray. Since I'm not gonna be revving it any higher than that I am going to run out of gear on the top end. Hence the 28" tall tires.
I will have to check some time slips when I get home or even watch the video, but I think spraying the 150 shot added like 1.5 secs and something like 14-16 MPH in the 1/4. So if your planning on spraying a 100 shot I would at least add around 10MPH to your MPH now and then use a gear calculator to see what RPM you would be crossing the traps at.
EDIT: So I just used that Fbody gear calculator and with my 4.10's and revving it to 6500 I will be topped out at 122 in 4th with a 26" tall tire. Right now the car passes through the traps at ~114. So if the nitrous would add around 15 MPH I would HAVE to go into 5th. Even with a 28" tall tire, if I only rev it to 6100-6200 RPM I am still going to be topped out in 4th at 122-123 MPH.

Well I just scored another 9" center section so I will just build this one for 3.73s.
I run a window switch so it wont spray and over rev but I wanted to see what everyones opinnions were. I really wasnt sure if the 26" tall tires would be enough tire but sounds like they wont be. I will run the car on motor first with 26" tall tires and take it from there. Thanks
