Is this a MUST to do?
Is it absolutly needed to change out the stock fuel pump to run a dry 100shot on an ls1 99T/A with a full exhaust.
I hear this story going both ways.. I wouldnt normally object to upgrading, but my stock fuel pump was replaced a year ago, and it was a pain in the *** to do.
Thanks

99's have the 26 pound injectors, be sure to watch your AFR, anything above a 50 shot went lean for me (however, others have no problem), I had to up the injectors to (went 42's) get it to be safe.

Dude it's cheap insurence. But not ABSOLUTELY necessary. Just remember that fuel pumps are like all other parts. Older ones don't pump as much fuel as new ones, so if the pump has a lot of miles on it that it is probably a good idea to assist it. Just my .02

It's worth spending a couple extra $$'s & time now than a whole bunch later when **** blows. Just use the trap door method for swapping the pump and you should have the whole thing done from start to finish in less than an hour.

That is one awesome access to the pump! I like it.

Eh, I'd recomend upgrading the intank pump, or at least buying an inline pump. I just juiced up my v6 'bird with a 100 wet shot, but a guy I was talking to gave me an interesting analogy. Think of going skydiving, and you can either use a single parachute (cheap) or 'chute with a backup (say, $255 like a Walbro fuel pump).
Sure, most people never HAVE to use their backup 'chute, but you'll feel a hell of a lot safer with one IMO.
