Default nitrous rwhp question

hello guys.i'm running 125 horse jets in my nitrous kit which is not a rwhp kit so it comes out to around 107 rwhp.i'm hearing a good stock pump will handle a 150 rwhp shot and please correct me if i'm wrong.anyway thinking of putting in the 150 jets which is probally around 130 or so rwhp.pump is working fine with the 125 jets.car is a 2001 b4c 57,000 miles,3400 fuddle ,drag radials, and nitrous.car runs 11.80's now.stock everything,no headers, stock muffler.getting the throttle body ported and maybe a cat back.looking to go 11.50's.also timing is at 22 degrees.do i have to get more timing taken out for the 150 jets?af ratio is at 11.5 on nitrous.plugs looked great.just looking to go a little faster . sorry for the long post.your suggestions are appreciated

You should be fine with the timing you have right now.

hey chris hows it going?thanks for the reply on the nitrous rwhp post.chris i figured my kit was not a rwhp kit because with the 125 jets i went from a 12.86 to a 11.86 and gained 10 miles per hour.so the 150 jets should maybe give me around 125 or so to the wheels?am i ok with the stock pump?i will be getting a racetronix from you soon. thanks.talked to you on the phone this past week and you were very helpful.

The pumps are generally considered good to about 450rwhp total, though some take it further, 500 and more. There is no guarantee, and upgrading is really good insurance. Once you go past about the 150 size there are other things you can do to make your fuel system support more hp. check my write ups on the fuel system upgrading, actually two different write ups, you likely will get some insight into your system, and maybe ideas for the future. good luck.

There is no definitive line as to when you have to upgrade a pump. On a vehicle by vehicle case they can fluctuate fairly significantly. Ive even seen people go up to 440-450 rwhp on stock injectors while mine and many others see a 100% duty cycle at 410-420. The very best thing you can do is just upgrade to the racetronix kit as soon as possible. If you are not monitoring your A/F and fuel pressure, you may very well lean out the motor and do some damage. Just like robert said, it may not be necessary right now, but its simply good insurance. Personally i dont use the "150" rule as to when you need to upgrade your stock pump. It doesnt take into account the combination you are running NA and how much rwhp that is producing. Obviously the more NA rwhp you are making the harder it will be for the pump to keep up with your shot. For instance my personal car puts out 490-500 NA, i clearly cant use the 150 rule as i am pretty much maxing out the pump on NA alone.

thanks mike.i dynoned my car at 280 rwhp so i figured with a 125 rwhp shot i am around 405 rwhp.i do have a dynotune wideband and a fuel pressure guage.getting 12.8 na and 11.5 on the nitrous.and the plugs look good.i'm definately going to get the racetronics pump and wire harness.thanks for your help.it was funny at the track sunday because you can't hardly hear the car running and when i ripped an 11.86 the car got some attention.looking to port the throttle body and put the 125 rwhp jets in and maybe go 11.50's.
