Angry System won't stop purging!!

Whenever I activate my nitrous system it will just purge non-stop until I turn the switch off. The purge runs on a seperate switch, but hitting that switch does nothing.

Anyone have any idea what my problem might be?

Might be a crossed wire or something like that, but thats just a guess.

If its not an electric problem it could be Hung open plunger. I would take the solenoid apart and inspect the plunger for contamination. Are you using a nitrous filter?

has to be a wiring mistake. The noid turns on and off on command when you flip the switch...it just the wrong switch. So check all your grounds and relay wires.

Or if your not that good at wiring...start over on your purge wiring.

doesn't have to be a bad solenoid.

If it is wired wrong or he has the purge tubing connected to a bypass port it would exibit the issue he is seeing but be a perfectly working solenoid.

do you have a relay on your purge circuit? If you do maybe its stuck. But that would only be true if its wired so that the purge circuit is powered only when you arm the system?

Bad solenoids don't magically come on when you arm the kit....But incorrect wiring will...

Most likely a wiring issue. Disconnect the purge solenoid and check for 12v on the power side, then flip the switch and check for 12v. If 12v is there when you flip the arm switch only, then that switch is somehow activating the purge. Backtrace from the solenoid, checking for 12v at each connecting point until you find your problem.

Or just do the easy thing and re-wire your purge system.

There are no relays.

It was all on the car when I bought it so I played w/the wiring a bit today. I completely disconnected the purge switch & armed it...still non-stop purging. So removing both wires going to the arm switch & hooked them to the purge switch (one at a time) that did nothing.

I even ran a new wire from the purge switch to the purge solenoid & grounded the other wire from the switch & of course the other wire from ther solenoid is grounded. That didn't do anything

The arming switch has 2 wires going to it. One of those wires goes to the fuse panel for power.

The purge switch also has 2 wires going to it. One right from the purge solenoid wire.

Here's the test. One wire from the noid to chassis ground. Other wire to prong 1 on the switch. The other wire to a fused 12 volt source. This will eliminate any wiring errors. This should be just a temporary for troubleshooting purposes though.

I disconnected power to the solenoid & armed the system. No purging. So I then did what you just posted above & the purge switch actually purges the system now & it doesn't purge when I arm it. Who knows, maybe the system doesn't even spray now I'm going to hopefully take the car out tomorrow & see if it works.
