Default What happened?

Well today I went to the track ran 1 pass pulled a plug and it looked great car ran fine. 2nd launched nitrous kinda felt like it kicked car hit 2nd and bogged out. 3rd run I let my brother run it and everything was cool. 4th run car kinda felt kicked then bogged. 5th run spray was alittle delayed on the hit then it went ok then up top it kinda bucked and it didnt feel right so I let out. I think my nitrous solenoid might be shot and cutting it and it might just be spraying fuel because im pretty sure if the fuel was cutting it probaby would of blown a plug or worse. Im going to order a new solenoid this one is only like a 1 year old nos pro race solenoid that wasnt used to much. I was running a .67 and a .38 in a dynotune nozzle for jetting and have a hsw nozzle with straight 116 I also tryed a hsw nozzle with a .62 and a .38 but it did the same thing. Ive never had any trouble with the kit b4. I dont think its the wiring anyone have any ideas im leaning toward the solenoid as my bottle pressure gauge got screwed and when I tapped on the gauge the pressure went to like 1250 so I bled off the pressure and but im wondering if the solenoid could of gotten screwed up from that. Car did fine on motor (didnt run it on motor but did the burnout and it was fine shifting through starting in 1st and ending in 2nd). Anyone have any other ideas.

It sounds like a bad N20 noid, if you do end up buying a new one I'll buy the old one off of you if you decide to sell it.

Dont have a fpss I dont really see a purpose to running one because my car could make fuel pressure and the fuel noid could fail so either way ur screwed but and people always seem to have problems with them.

Why would you want to buy the old solenoid to rebuild it? I tested the noid and it clicks and sprays but sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt it seems the wiring is all good im going to dyno it this week along with bigger jets if all is well.

Could be a mix of things.. First thing is this. If the bottle pressure was that high depending on what solenoids you are running the nitrous solenoid was probley not opening due to to much bottle pressure.

If your airfuel is way off that could be another issue.

+1 on the Nos PSI. my old TNT noids would do this...when pressure went above 1150 it would not spray

id also take the noid apart and just check it for debris. something could have gotten in there. Filter??? if ya have one and you've been running it for a year like your noids, id change/or clean that aswell.

My pressure gauge got screwed up and I think the pressure went to like 1200 psi but I noticed this in the car so I took the bottle out and bled off the nitrous then I put the bottle back in around 900 or 1000 psi im thinking the solenoid just got hurt from that. Ive never had any trouble before and the last time I dynoed the a/f was good and the car ran fine the first pass it seemed to get screwed up after that bottle incident but I figured if I bled the pressure off and backed it down the noid would open but I guess it started to get screwed up and seemed like it would fire and not fire then. I do plan on dynoing again this week.

The noid was locking up from the pressure. I don't think it's hurt, just keep it at 1050

Yea but I backed the pressure off before the run like I knew the pressure was so high and would lock the solenoid up so I disconnected the line and let it bleed out then I bled the bottle down to around 1000 psi and threw it back in and after that it was being screwed up it seeemed.

A NOS pro race noid should have no problem opening at 1200 PSI

And yes, I would probably try to rebuild it or just use it for parts.

I was messing around earlier and I was thinking my bottle might of had some air in it being as I fill my own nitrous and I tryed using some without remember how many fills I had on the main tank (I figured it was getting low) so im thinking that could of been a possibility also. I cracked the valve on the bottle and it seemed like it had alot of air then I opened another bottle that I filled mostly with the newer tank and it seemed to have more spray like the white cloud. Im not sure if that was the issue but it could of been either way I got a edelbrock performer solenoid that seems to be the same size as the nos one and it's rated at 450hp. O yea the nos solenoid was a super pro shot not a pro race got em mixed up.
