I've had no luck with the paste, good luck with the tape. Make sure you wrap with the direction of the threads.

If you tape carefully and in the right area of the threads you shouldnt see any trouble. I am pretty sure most tape issues come from sloppy tape jobs.

i've never had problems with the cheap tape from harbor freight. but i've been using the paste. ****** shitty when you have to take the fitting apart and clean the old paste off to reapply the paste.

I always suggest using Teflon Paste or Loc-tite. The problem with tape is that not everyone does as good and clean of a job as they think they do. I have seen so many solenoids that were sticking open due to teflon tape been in the solenoid keeing the piston from seating..

Been using teflon paste for over 6 years now and never ever had any leaks. I think it's dumb to use locktite because of what a PITA it is if you need to change your system around. Not fun trying to get fittings out that are sealed in with locktite.

Applying the tape correctly is the hardest part for people.

Hold fitting with end that screws in first pointing toward you. Wrap tape around clockwise. This way, when you tear off the end, and screw the fitting in, the screwing in action doesn't attempt to "unwind" the tape. Make sure the tape doesn't lay over the hole in the end, keep the edge of the tape even with the end of the threads.

x2....I never use the liquid, always tape. Never have had a problem from it. I always start a couple threads up from the end.

I have a problem hopfully someone could shead light on. I have a HSW kit and some of the anodized fittings dont thread into the solenoids worth a ****. The ones that do when you go to remove them they rip all the threads and **** the fittings, WHICH ARE NOT CHEAP, should I use the brass ones instead? I am using the teflon paste as recommended by HSW.

Thanks, Josh

I use teflon paste for the most part but on fittings that won't be coming apart I use teflon paste mixed with a little loctite.
