700-800rwhp Nitrous folks: Ever run your car on the street?
What happens with drag radials on the street and that much power? At what MPH are you able to hit the jug?
I once tried to go from a 40 punch with 275 street tires on the back and 600rwhp and the car jumped to the side just a bit. I know have a taller and stickier street tire. Enough to cut 1.50 on a 150shot and 1.66 on motor.
I have never driven a car with over 700 horses on the jug and was curious what normally happens before I attempt it.

Now, from a 40 punch maybe you will have better luck i would assume. Also, the weight of your car will play a big role.
Force_Friction(static) = u(coefficent of friction) * N (nomal force: Mass(lbs)*32ft/s^s)
So, the heavier your car the higher the normal force thus the more force(rwhp) required to cause the tire to break loose. In short, this may be an instance where your heavy car (3900lbs If i recall correctly) would be of some benifit).

That is what I was afraid of....
I usually play on the street from a roll anyway since the car wont hook on motor from a stop. But from 20 or 30 it doesnt spin much. With 600hp I could run from 40 or 5o alright.
I guess I just need to test it out and see huh?

Mine was between 650-750 for several years. I rarely went to the track and raced on the street weekly. You really need to be on a concrete launch pad somewhere. You need the right supension and tires.
One of the things I remember most about my old setup was even at 750 rwhp I could nail it at 20 mph in first gear and get pretty good traction. And this was on 275 nittos only on concrete. And sometime on ET drags. I would make every attempt to sucker the other guy in to a first or second gear roll at my favorite concrete spot.
On typical ashpalt surfaces I needed to start at 40-50. Of course If raced from a stop I just had to modulate the throttle/clutch for a decent launch and just try to maintain position to the car next to me until we reached the 40-50 until I engaged the nitrous.
Its not like you will instantly crash when trying to put down 700+ rwhp. For me I never felt like I was in danger...if you spin...let off. Its no biggie.

back in the day is was Gandy, Howard frankiln, and several other bridges, several places in St pete and clearwater, couple places in Brandon etc etc. Of course all that has been ruined by 17yo punks. I no longer street race.

I went down to Gandy, I think, on a Friday night right after Thanksgiving.(I'm Tampa retarded, don't know where I am half the time). It was packed with Explorers with body kits, and rice. Only nice vehicle there was a evo8.
Sorry for the off topicness.
I'll be happy if I don't hook, I'm going to lock my 1st gear out. Don't know if I will ever have the funds to replace my 10 bolt, so I'm not planning on running a sticky tire. Granted I'm shooting for 200rwhp less than you.

you can hook anything with the right suspention and tires. i just know my car on a 10.5 et drag with the suspention set up for the track wouldnt hook 300 on the street.

LOL, my car makes about 470rw on motor, and I can't hook that on the street with the 5000 rpm converter. I did once last year try it just for giggles around the block to test the kit to make sure it was working before I took it to the track, with the 100 jets it just blew the 28inch et drags away.
