I take it, you prefer the right lane when data logging.

the Firebird's hood has taken flight... and that sucks...
Whatever caused the backfire... congratulations on your success in not having pieces of the intake mani lodged in the hood... that usually costs a little more than the hood i believe.

No doubt... Im believing that not having the filter in actually saved it from blowing (the intake) due to the back pressure not being there with no filter in.

Whoa!! You backfired through the air intake and blew that hood off like that?

WOW!! Really lucky!!

I'm a noob w. Nitrous but I'd think about having that bottle purged and refilled.

A good healthy high milage motor is actually pretty good for a N20 set up.A loose motor tends to be a good thing for N20..

Im sure if it did pop the car would not even run due to a huge vacum leak.

Im guessing the only reason it did not blow the intake up is due to me not running a filter and the way the "non stock ram air" hood is designed.

It made it pretty easy for the pressure to escape I suppose.. Or, maybe I just got lucky. But, it will prolly cost more to repair my hood (or get a new one) then to just buy a 90mm intake if it would have popped.

Yea, thats an option, but the top of the hood that went fyling is chipped up pretty bad in a few corners though.

A buddy said ~500 he can fix it completely.. If so, that pretty damn good I suppose.

I looked on the suncoast creations webside and they are 695 If I remeber correctly. But, you have to keep in mind they come primered and ready for paint. So, you still have another ~400 - 600 bucks more for paint. All and all it be over 1K when done.
