N2O baackfire = exploding hood.
I had a backfire today and it split my hood in two. I have no clue why.
I was running a 150 shot, 4* of timing pulled and on 100 octane. When I came back to the pits, I noticed my N20 PSI was at ~1300. I am guessing I had a N20 spike due to it being to high. I did not have time/did not look at the AF guage yet to see where it was at.
I have had the 100 shot on for over 20 bottles and no issues at all. I only added the timing tuner and the NANO system since. I still cant get the N20 pressure below 1200 even after I try and purge it. So, I dont know whats up with that.
And sugestions on what might have caused it?

But, I understand what your saying though. The cheapy purge (forgot the name) I have cuts out at 1000PSI or so. I know the pressure was under that when I went thru the burn out box and took off. The pressure jumped up that much while going down the track. And, I let off at half track too obviously. I think something with the NANO regulator screwed up.

In all the runs I ran with the 100 shot it was set up at 3700 to activate and 6500 to shut off..
I changed it to 3300 to activate so I could hit the verter lower in the RPM and flash the **** out of it now that I have my 9" rear in.
I dont know what my AF was as I did not even look at it yet. I need to put some big *** letters in the car so I will remind myself to look.

no but seriously that dosn't make since how the hood would peel apart like that, i would understand a hood cracking down the middle and the intake in pieces but that's a strange way to break. probably the glue holding the hood finally gave out?

If you did not retune the car after adding the Nano that is probley your issue. The nano will change the airfuel quite a bit. You have to go down on the nitrous jet or up on the fuel jet. The bottle pressure is pretty high but if that were the problem the nitrous solenoid would have just not opened. Im thinking you had a lean pop..

Im guessing the regulator/valve on the NANO is not working properly. I know it was at ~950psi when I turned it on. So, it went up that much in PSI from when I left till when I got off the gas.
Will the NANO guys give me another one? I think this one is not working.

Looks like you got fairly lucky with the whole deal. It could have blew the **** out of that thousand dollar intake. MAF wires look good too?? If it were mine, I'd be doing some serious inspecting before spraying again.

Purging a push system will do no good for lowering the bottle pressure until you totally deplete it's volume, at least in this instance where the valve seems to be stuck. you can only purge down to the push systems set point. Looks to me as though it was mid to high rpm lean backfire. 1300psi adds quite a bit of hp over a kits jetting at a lower pressure. That was always a trick of mine with the dry hits before the MAF, just raise the bottle pressure rather than a change to a bigger jet for a higher hp hit, though the dry is self correcting on the a/f ratio. I couldn't tell in the pic, what kit is that, i couldn't see the nozzle location? You were lucky and didn't dislodge the fuel rails, and I am glad your damage is minimal. That's why I went with an aluminum intake this time around. If the NANO is changing a companies rec pressure that's not good at all, we should be staying at the rec pressure on these kits. We shouldn't have to re-tune if it's at the correct bottle pressure, but if we decide to change the pressure then the a/f ratio will change. Anyway, no one got hurt and that's the best we can ask for. You'll be back, bigger and better.

The NANO is an awesome piece...but there is a reason why I went from a regulator to a pressure switch/noid setup on my old push system.
You really have to keep an eye on anything that has only a regulator between the high and low side. They are reliable enough...but certainly not foolproof.
I am amazed that hood split like that and didnt screw anything else up. I bet it scared the crap out of ya!

Why the back fire, not really sure, you where pretty far down the track to a bog type of issue. A lean burp, maybe. I would recommend pulling the plugs, I know the engine is running fine, but pull the plugs and take a look and see if you are missing in porcilen.
