I took the filter out of it so it looks a little different.

But, if the hood was all one piece, the air comes in thru the nostrels then thru the air filter and in the motor..

It looks like this due to the top half of the hood peeled off.

Yea i was just expecting to see a blown up intake....seeing the hood peel off like that made me think it was gonna look nasty under the hood......It looks like a wet shot...ive never seen one back fire out thru the filter only, usually i seem them crack the intake manifold tho.

The reason it came out the TB is by the looks of the video you were pretty much WOT.So the pressure went for the quickest way out of your intake"lucky you".Im
sure its to late but i would have checked my plugs right away sense you dont have the A/F guage.Plugs usually tell all..

I do have have AF gauge in the car.. At the time of the backfire I wasn't looking at it. I know if I was, and saw it leaning out, I would have let off. But, if the NANO spiked really quick, it wouldn't have mattered.

In the ~5 sec. I had WOT, the bottle pressure jumped from ~950 to ~1300.

Wow sorry to hear about the backfire but it does look like you were pretty lucky with no real engine damage.

I thought the same thing. But he was running without the air filter (it's a big filter) which I'm guessing let the explosion of pressure evacuate through the ram air portion of the hood which caused it to delaminate. It's a Suncoast Creations WS6 hood that mounts a real big filter which seals directly to the hood and has no lid.

Damn!!!!!! Yeah I would say that you are lucky but now I'm scared as hell. I'm setting here getting ready to spray my car with the nano system but now I don't want to. I will be doing all kinds of calling around and double checking because I don't know what to really do to prevent this when I use the nano. Any help from sponsors and experts that have been using the nano would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I got a PM from a nano rep. and they will be contacting me to see what can be done.. Today I tried to get the pressure down and it took ALOT of purging to even get into under 1100. But, at this point there is not much left. So, we are working on a solution. I would just watch the bottle pressure.

I have a bud that saw both pieces of the hood and he can fix it.. Your rear end worked flawlessly.

Do you have a Lean Safety shut off switch? If so would that have prevented this? I just brought one and hooked it up? Any other saftey equipment that you think I should have? I got the window switch, stand alone, timing tuner, progressive controller and a fuel pressure saftey switch for the stand alone. Am I missing anything?
