Default LM1 Wideband

I really didn't know where to post this so I figured I would just post it here.

I have a LM1 wideband with a Dynotune Digital A/F Ratio gauge in the A pillar. Just this weekend, I noticed that at WOT the A/F Ratio goes to 12.7-12.9 then after a second of WOT it goes all the way up to 19.8-19.7.

Now I know there is NO WAY that can be right because I'm sure that the car would not run right if that reading was right.

Could it be a problem with the gauge or maybe the wideband not reading right? I can plug in the laptop and log some runs straight off the controller instead of looking at the gauge, and I'll probably do that tonight.

you have an LM-1 or the LC-1?

Mine does the same thing. It also sets a code saying the sensor is overheated/bad. I doubt thats a real code though. The unit os only 3 months old. It never really worked right from the get go.

I havent had the time to troubleshoot yet though so I have no advice. But here is a TTT for us.

My first two LC-1's did that, I RMA'd them within a few weeks of the installs, and the third one has been in my car two years working great.

I just bought another one for my Avalanche, if it "acts up", no more Innovate for me.

I have never had an issue with a FJO wide band.

U need to calibrate heater then calibrate free air if it show around 20.9 in free air most likely sensor is good. My other question is does Dyno tune match what display says on LM1??

I just RMA'd my LC1, it would go from 10.9-46.9 on free air cal. and then freak out during run time.

The Innovate stuff is top notch when it works, by far the most accurate wideband and the fact that it has free air calibration is a huuuuge plus.

But they are soo sensitive to wiring/grounds its not even funny. I hope to get mine back next week, and im going to ground it to the engine block.

Tony.

I was going to ask the same question - is the LM1 reading the same as the gauge? The gauge will only read the signal the unit is putting out so no issue with the gauge.

To the LC1 guys looks like Innovate finally has there output issues with the LC1 resolved. Of the 200 or so units we shipped out this past couple of months we have only seen a couple come back as compared to prior where we saw about 10% come back.

I'll log a couple of runs with the laptop hooked straight to the LM1 to see if it reads the same or if it is in the gauge. The LM1 is actually mounted in the back seat so it's hard to read when I'm driving LOL.
