Default LSX shootout 2008

Who all here is going to RACE their cars this year? They finally changed the rules around a little to actually give the N20 guys something to show up for.

I am planning on running index this year, I'd like to see some of the heavy hitters show up and lay down some nice #'s.

For those that didn't make it last year, it is an awesome race, there is great food, badass cars, and alot of hot *** women. What more could a man ask for?

Post up homo's!

Good for yall. N2O is a lot of fun, and is an affordable alternative for those of us who are unable (or unwilling) to throw 20 grand +++ into their cars.

I don't think that was a good fix, but I'm stuck up here in AK, so it doesn't matter. You're going to tell 8 guys that are spending 3+ grand just to put a car down the track in Memphis that they are basically duking it out for a $1900 block and a jacket. Take some good videos. It'll be snowing up here by then.

How about the turbo guys? I'll Tom Kemf has well over 50K in his car and will spend 3K to go there to race for 3K, a block and jacket. I believe most of the heavy hitters care more about the exposure and bragging rights than the money.
The thing is, the more people that show up to run N20 cars, the more the purse will grow (at least it should) every year.
Personally I think it's a fair deal. With the economy in as bad of shape that it is in we are lucky to even be having this race. I think the nitrous cars are more fun to watch (wheel stands) compared to the turbo cars and if there is a bigger turnout and the response from the fans that GM and other sponsers will reward us better in the events to come. I could be wrong but I'm gonna do my part and show up to support it anyway.

Maybe I came off the wrong way. I don't think this is a good fix, but it is a small step. I thought I read this year that the DR class was racing for a crate motor this year. I think the DR payout is right on track with normal events. 3K is just travel/fuel/food costs. I'm not talking about the costs of vehicles here, because yes, the turbo guys have piles of money in their cars.

If I was in the lower 48 I would be there too. This is a great event. My personal opinion is that nitrous cars are treated like second class citizens though.

Well as bad as I hate to say it compared to the times that the big turbo guys are running we are kinda "second hand" I think that in the next few years there will be some "All out" nitrous cars popping up and surprising some people.

And you are right, the winner of the DR class gets a new LS3! That's freakin awesome!

I think a good fix for future events would be to just have a heads up/run whatcha brung nitrous class. Have a lower payout than the turbo class--maybe something like $2500 and an LSX block. Hell I bet they could field 15 cars that were all within a couple tenths. Find a major nitrous company to put up the purse, and it wouldn't cost NMCA anything out of pocket to run the class.

I'm in the Air Force, and stationed up here. The racing is incredible, although most of my races are against old school cars with big blocks. Redsrtak and myself are really the only quick 4th gens up here though.
