thats why I was asking. Can someone shoot 250 or is it just going to be a mess trying to do so and just go with a dual stage.

The size of the solenoid isn't the real issue. The distribution of the charge from a plate for that size shot is the real issue. That's why most shops, HSW included, generally recommend that you go direct port for shots over 200.

I figured it wouldn't be the solenoid, and more along the lines of the plate. So is 150 the max someone should go on the plate or is 175-200 capable.

well, thats what I figured too. I specifically asked for them to include the 200 jets when I ordered my plate, and they did, but it turns out that the plate didnt work on anything over a 100 shot for me. (super lean)

I called them and asked them wtf, and Matt told me that they have two plates, and that the one that comes in the conversion kit is the "small" plate and that it is only rated to 150 max (not even that obviously) and that I could not get the "big" plate unless i bought a whole system.

I was pretty pissed after finding this out so I pulled that crap off, and got a Nitro Dave's plate

Nitro Dave's plate works flawlessly on a 200 shot, and with the right tuning you could even step it up to 250 or so with no problems. HSW 's plate just isnt as well designed imo

what are some of the design flaws compared to the nitro daves plate.

I am really leaning towards keeping the 150 dry shot on and then get a direct port with the new motor as a second stage.

-150 shot max on the conversion kit plate, 200 shot max on the "big" plate

-lean spikes resulting from the perimeter spray design.

-my plate didnt even work for a 150 shot, not sure if it was just mine or all but mine was super lean... No pressure drop, plenty of pump

I did toss around the idea of using the HSW plate for a dry hit though, but eventually ditched that idea due to the complexity involved.

I also really like how the dave's plate uses the inlets pointed towards the manifold as opposed to on each side after installing my new plate

Id say its more of an isolated case....Ive got the 150 jets in mine, and it works flawlessly. No lean spikes, nothing. I personnally love the way HSWs kit is set up. Maybe they will chime in on as to sprayin 200 through the plate. I will have to agree with 02NBMWS6, sometimes HSW will rub you the wrong with the the simplest requests...

do you have the "big" plate that came in the kit or the "little" plate that comes with the conversion kit?

Me too. I couldnt believe it when he said there was two bc after all of the reading i did on it i have never heard any mention of that. I asked him 3 or 4 times if there was any way I could orderthe big plate, and his answer was "no, only with the kit" "the kit comes with special length lines"

I even offered to buy whatever lines they recommended to run with the plate but he still refused. Then I asked about a refund, and he said "sure, it must be unopened, and there will be a restocking fee"

If it's a conversion kit it is probably the small plate, but it should be fine for a dry hit.

My car made the power on a 150 shot, which tells me the nitrous is being supplied, but we could not get the a/f anywhere close which is telling me the fuel isnt flowing as well as the n2o.
