Why is that? I've been running them for quite some time and is what was recommended to me to get and have had no problems.

Depends on the set up. Shoot me a PM with what you're looking to do. Thanks.

head and cam or just stock longblock? if its head and cam, id try a 7, even if you didnt pick up et, you wouldnt stress the motor, IMO.

Here is the #6 vs the #7. Just for info, the #7 is not a TR7, and if you ask for it the dumb parts guy will be likely be stumped, lol. Also, the Br8 is really only a 1/2 step colder than a BR7, not a full step like a 6 vs 7, IIRC.

Even so, they are not the best nitrous plug. any extended tip is not a good choice for nitrous, IMO. here is what the TR6 will do with a bigger shot and no safety margin... Having a slightly colder plug and removing the extended tip will in fact make your set-up a notch safer in the long haul. Once you have any glitch in your system, the plug (TR6) could turn into a blow torch, where as, say a #7, might save your motor. That is currently my rec for a good street/strip plug and shots 200 and under, and of course timing correct and other parameters...

the biggest reason most run the TR6 is because that has been the plug that most will suggest, however, with knowledge most will realize it is less than the ultimate street/strip plug.

Just so you know, I ran many hundreds of passes with TR6s myself, so they are at least better than stock. Mostly that is all I try and do, make someone think, then they can make an informed choice on what they think is best for them.

What plug do you guys recommend for a 423 ci motor w/ about 12.5 to 1 compression on a 200 shot. I am running the TFS 235 head and will be running a GMPP intake w/ a 4150 TB and a nos big shot plate. I will be running 100 octane . I was thinking that the BR7E is the one i want to run but the car will be run on motor about half the time so i wasnt sure. thanks

i would think youd want the 7's on motor, and then an 8 or a 9 heat range on the bottle.
7's are going to be a lil hot for that much juice with the hp level and compression being up there already.
